Looking for help to identify a sound C220.
Hello all! I've been lurking and using these and MBworld forums for the last couple of months to fix up a 1996 C220 I purchased at auction for a great price. Had some minor issues that I fixed but I can't seem to identify this last one. I took a video and suspect it's a lifter or timing chain.
So far, with the forums help, I've replacereplacedmy water pump, clutch fan, camshaft magnet, several cracked vacuum hoses, serpentine belt w/tensioner and dampener, as well as both motor and the transmission mount. Car drives great, has plenty of power and is getting 27+ mpg highway. Recently tho, I developed a rattle when I press the gas or let off suddenly. I heard it from inside the car faintly, but messed with the throttle cable today and finally heard how bad it is.
Any input would be appreciated.
Couldnt upload an mp4, so here's the sound as an mp3. It has a slow acceleration, with no noise.
Then around 10s you can hear the noise when I hit the throttle and let off. The noise happens when it's pressed or released.
