c230 engine help needed
Hello,
I have a 2000 c230 kompressor and lately the check engine light has been on. The readout code is p0410 secondary fuel injection system malfunction. Could anyone help me out as to where to locate this system and how to fix it?

I used to have a 1998 BMW 323 and had a simular problem. I wound up having to replace an airpump (about $175 I think) . The actual problem was that the airpump had a little air filter which wasn't replacable and the filter media broke down and gummed up the insides of the pump. THis pump sends air into the exhaust when the car starts up to even out the emmisions levels.
I'm thinking this may be the same thing? If so can't I just replace this air pump ? Where is it located?

On a C 230 Kompressor, the super charger acts as THE airpump on a cold start ( for about 1 - 2 minutes, to warm up the cat. converter ).
BUT, this also involves switching electric vacuum solenoids, check-valves, etc.
Rather than guessing, I would suggest to visit the dealer, have them run a diagnostic check & hopefully pinpoint the exact problem.

I had the check engine light come on with p0410 and all I did was disconnect the negative on the battary, tap the brake 3 times to discharge the electricity and wait 2 min and it went away. I tried to erase the code with the scanner but it would not work.
