My Car Is Falling Apart
I've got a 2000 c280 Sport with approx. 40k miles on it...so far i have the following problems: the turnsignal stick next to the steering wheel (dunno what its called) does not work at all, this means i have no turn signals, no brights, and when it rains i have to make frequent stops to wipe the water off of my windshield with 1 of the 5 rolls of paper towel in my car let me mention that i have already replaced the thing once 5 months ago...next the back lighting for my heater/airconditioner does not work so i have to turn on my dome light to see what temp. it is set at...and last but not least when i turn up my heater/air conditioner past 2 notches on the screen and the blower kicks on it sounds like the blower fan is rubbing up against another part and starts to make the car vibrate PLEASE HELP ME if any one has any ideas...im about this close to calling Xzibit up and telling him to come pimp MY ride!! :p

I wish I could tell you what to do man, but you might as well suck it up and take it to the dealer. Your car's not under warranty? **** I found out how much my headlight costs to replace and I'm going to buy an Audi or a Lexus now.

grk, check your fuses just to make sure. Look at every single one and see if thats the problem. Even though i bet you already tried that.

I think you can get a replacement part for the stalk.. if nothing on the stalk works, I would assume there is something wrong with the entire stalk (Assuming you did check all the fuses!). I believe the backlight on the climate control was addressed a bit lower in the forum and could even possibly be a DIY. As for something rubbing with the fan, when you did your mods, did you make sure nothing is rubbing? Try turning the blower on and opening the hood if something is rubbing at least you will know where it is and if you can do anything about it. Also, if nothing else works, an independent shop should give you a cheaper price than the dealer. They should be able to set you straight.
Ohh, instead of paper towels to clean the windshield try RAINX works really well especially at speeds over 45.
Good luck!

Ohh, instead of paper towels to clean the windshield try RAINX works really well especially at speeds over 45. .--haha!! RAINX!! I never thought of that!! Thanks to all who responded...i did check the fuses and they were all ok...so when im driving i notice that there is only 400 more miles til my next service so i took it in a bit early...i took the car in and they told me i needed a new stalk, and that the aftermarket bulbs that i have in there may be the culprit...the illumination of the climate screen was caused by a short and the rubbing of the fan was caused by an offset blower fan (not the big ones in the front but the ones that blow the hot/cold air through the vents) that might have been knocked off by a large bump or pot hole i have no idea what the hell they did to my car...all i know is that i only paid $150 bucks...Let me not mention that a service C package costs $535 (arm & leg) in my neck of the woods...how bout in your guys' cities??
