Question Is it possible to have daytime running lights?

I know many don't care for them but I'd like to at least have the option to
enable them on my 2000 W202. Anyone know if this is possible and how? Thx.

Buy a daytime running lamp control module, bracket, and wiring harness. The option was code 236.

Hum, I have a 2000 W202 and I want to get rid of my DRL, but I really don't have a clue how, since in the service manual the wiring diagrams aren'T the same for DRL equipped cars, I'm not sur it's easy to remove:S

Found out it's a $635 expense (module, harness, bracket). Ouch!

I believe you can pull the module and you'll be fine. Just double check to make sure your lights work manually first, it's possible that the module disconnects the manual function of the low beam. I don't have time to study the diagrams...

p.s. if you have a real Mercedes service manual, there are wiring diagrams for DRL equipped cars.

yes I have the real mercedes wiring diagrams from the dealer

I'll have to check into it, it's a little complex, last time I read those it was to put my folding mirrors in the right fuse box slot.

The service manuals have been released for the W202? I didn't know that had happened yet.

Just wondering.

There is a knob to the left of the steering wheel. Give it a twist to the right and the headlights will come on. It`s a cool feature, someday all cars may have it. Once again, Mercedes is first with the innovations.

I bought a service manual from the dealer itself

altough there wasn'T much interesting info on it, just basic service things I hated it

BUT, it had all the wiring diagrams, arranged in a pretty ackward way but you could find everything

So I kept all the diagrams on my computer and gave back the cd to my dealer because I wasn'T able to open any of the pdf files in it.

If you need them, send me a private message I'll arrangte somehting, you'lll owe me one

I would also like to turn mine off, but they automatically come on in Drive, 4,3,2,1. Park and Neutral the light switch works fine.
