What type of lubrication???
I think the throttle cable is sticky during winter months...what happens is, after a bit of driving, the throttle will keep adding gas and the car rev's at 1200-1500 (constant). If you shut off the engine and wait 15-20 minutes and start the car back up, the problem is gone. I've experienced this once last winter and this time it's more frequent this winter. Never any other season, just winter time.
I'm thinking the throttle cable needs lubrication...but I don't want to spray WD-40 (or is that ok?)...what type of lubrication is OK to be used?
Thanks!

KY Jelly or Vaseline.
Oooops, got ahead of myself here.
I believe what may be happening, based on the age of your car is, you're getting moisture build-up inside of the cable.
Probably the correct remedy would be to replace the cable.
You could try some WD 40, but it may not have much of a longterm affect.

yeah, I'm thinking it's something to do with that cable and age...
I'll probably have the indie diagnose it and see what's wrong. Don't know much much more money to spend on this car...it's gettin' there.
