This appears to be a configuration SAT (select at test) jumper in the flex-circuit jumper. I have not de-engineered a Comand unit yet, but this looks like there is a jumper between pins 4 and 5, with a provision to measure and cut during test. I have no idea what this is for, but it was cut on purpose, and was designed to be cut after the unit is manufactured.
This could be for the AM tuner to tune 9 Khz for Europe or 10 Khz for North America. It might be to enable or disable an option for one market, like watching TV from DVD.
Is there anyone who has a service manual for these things? Can you buy one?

you could play Audio CD's in the Navi drive. you just cant use the navi function with an Audio CD in the navi drive. ive played both burned CD's and store bought CD's in the COMAND head unit.
