You mean C32 spoiler. I highly doubt that it is a C55 spoiler.

The textile will already be damaged from the sewing process. There is a professional thread picking tool that costs about $3.

Depends if you want to pick it out or cut it first.

The only reason people have the thought process that AMG means engine, is because that is how it comes from Mercedes. If Mercedes released a C230 with a AMG badge on it because it had AMG wheels, spoiler and other items, nobody here would say Sh it. I could care less if somebody puts a Navigator badge on their Kia. If that is what they like, fine. I think the care looks good and he should leave the AMG badge.

My friend owns a C320 Evolution AMG ..... that is the official designation. But you are right. It doesnt have any AMG badges on the body.

Ifin my current ride were an AMG, then I would de-badge it too, adding the letters to my vehicle alphabet soup.

Does that make me a de-poser?

poor guy ... he probably already killed himself after all that criticism

if that is step one ... what are you going to change in step two?

PS: at least you made the right decision in buying a MB and not some toyota

again, at least those who don't understand the AMG history.

And if I can remember correctly, didn't they release a diesel AMG Coupe for a limited time in europe? I may be wrong, but I remember seeing one.

hahahahhah

I got one!!!! PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS!!!

Why is the car listed C230 when it's 1.8L??? Other countries are listed C180 Kompressor!

Is this a US marketing scheme? If CalFrank swaps his emblem to C180 will you call him a Poser also?

bwhahahahhahah Just something else to keep this thread going!!!

I think that AMG emblem is angled wrong, it's too low on the left side!! Let's debate THAT!

I signed up just for this thread

hello fellas...i love this forum fyi. I've been viewing and going through this forum for a while now and...decided, it's time to start posting.

Well this thread is very interesting and its awesome to read so much feedback...obviously both sides feel strongly about this topic.

well my .02 cents are as follows....

what is amg known for? performance tuning. mb has a whole bunch of amg parts on their cars, but none get shipped with an amg badge unless they have the amg package which of course includes the engine. mb to my knowledge doesnt offer an AMG spoiler package w/ amg badge, or suspension package with amg badge. therefor everythign else is aftermarket mods, and NOT authentic. I think that should be with it all comes down to. Authenticity.

Im at work , sorry for not proofreading.... love this forum...happy postings!

Wow! I hadn't looked at this thread before! I open it up to find a C230 AMG!!

Sure, he can put whatever he wants on his car. He can change the C230 to an SL600 if he wants. But I guess the question is why would he? Why does somebody put an AMG badge on their car when their car is not AMG?

Hey, if he thinks it "looks good", then fine. But if I ever see him on the road, he'll see me pointing at him and laughing!

Hi nacker, and welcome to the forum! I agree. The big difference between an AMG badge and any other badge is that Mercedes sells cars with AMG badges, and it means a certain thing. It means the car has been tuned by AMG! It doesn't mean that the car has AMG wheels, or an AMG body kit. The only reason I can think of for someone to put AMG on their car is to try and fool people into thinking they are driving something they're not. The funny part is (at least to me), anybody who even knows what AMG is will probably know that it's not an AMG.

I was thinking of cutting it - but there are zillions of stitches there, and the thread is very fine - it would require micro-surgical skills to do it either way. I'll just leave it as is.

No need to yell! The C230 is NOT a C180 in Europe. The car thats sold as a C230 in the US is also sold as a C230 in Europe. The C160, C180 and C200 are different versions with different engine configurations.

i totally agree. it's funny how these poser's have totally tried to distort this truth. To me, this topic is very black & white. There is no grey area here. Amg tuned or not. And deep inside...their only fooling themselves. The reason for their lengthy replies.........dont distort the facts. Again...this is not just any badge, just like MB is not just any car.

ill bring the 6.0 nylon and start on the subQ inverted stitches and then use a running stitch, that should close it up nicely.,, lol

I never tried to force my opinion on anyone, silly. By now you should have gathered enough information to see it yourself.
