How adaptative is the ECU fuel map???

I allways drived smoothely and rarely step hard on the gas, but now I'm giving it hard for the last 3 weeks (even the button under the gas pedal)
But what happens is, I noticed the car throttle response changed, and it looks like it got more "punch"

The ECU adapts to our driving style???

(I drive a C220CDI coupe with manual 6th speed all stock only with KN air filter)

I had a 98 CLK200k auto, and I noticed that also, specially when changing the seat memory position from my fathers to my position,I remember reading in the catalogue that the auto transmission adapts to our driving style and the info was stored for all memory positions (3 drivers) but it was a AUTO and mine now is manual (but I have also memory seats)

If your feeling the car is more punchy, then your probably right the ECU changes the fuel mapping...why do you need this to be confirmed ?

If you feel it great..enjoy it.. ..and move on...

For you second question..."In the 230k are some hp, and no feeling?"

I have no idea what you are trying to say...

..."In the 230k are some hp, and no feeling?"

Just an expression, in my CDI we can feel the changes a lot, maybe the electronic changes in the settings of the turbo...

If you'd have had the manumatic, I could tell you that that specific transmission adapts to driving style. If you drive like a maniac, it will shift higher and quicker for more sport. If you drive like a grandma, it will shift in more of an economy mode.

I too would like to learn more about our ECU. I would assume that it is like most others on newer performance cars and has both open and closed loop mode. Open being totally adjustable fuel/timing maps and closed being above a certian RPM and/or duty level going to a pre-set map.
