Picked up 05 C230K SS today!
Just picked it up this afternoon ….
2005 C230 SS (Alabaster White/Charcoal)
5-Speed Auto
COMAND
Lighting Package
Entertainment Package
Sunroof Package
MSRP $37,120
INVOICE $35,175
NEGOTIATED PRICE: $33,275 ($1,900 off invoice)
CISCO SYSTEMS Employee discount -$1,500
TOTAL PAID OTD: $34,686.90
My sales guy told me straight up that he will only sell for $1k over invoice. I was like “yeah right….why don’t I just give you all the cash I have to you now, that way we don’t actually have to go through the formality of robbing me” I was getting ready to go to another dealer...Then he wanted me to go talk to his manager, which is even better I thought!
His manager offered me $1k off invoice and nothing more. I showed him the Carsdirect price and he was BSing me about how Carsdirect is not legit blah blah blah. Then, I showed him the post that Calfrank posted a while back and finally he was able to get down to $1900 off invoice, I figured that another $100 off is not worth to fight over another 10 min for. When I slapped the $1500 Cisco Systems coupon in his face, his jaw just dropped and said “you guys……” But he couldn’t say anything more.
Thanks to everyone’s suggestions on this forum (Especially Calfrank, Gaogi, SLK_320). You guys are right. Don’t act like you can’t live w/o the car and you will be fine. I knew if I didn’t get the price I wanted today, I would walk out the door in a second even though the car had everything that I wanted. There are always better deals at other dealers. And it always helps to talk to the managers, they are there to move the car out the lot and get you a deal ASAP instead of the traditional ways of negotiating for 6 hours. I was in and out of the manager’s office in 12 minutes. The rest are just endless paperworks and tutorials on how to use the car.
Note: There are already dead bugs/bird droppings on my front bumper!!! Argh~
Sorry for the quality of the pixs…I was in a hurry to go get something to eat and it was already dark!

pixel quality seems fine to me :p
I'm curious to know about this Cisco Sys discount. Cisco pays for 1500 for its employees? Does it only cover MB's?

We don't get reimbursed but it works like a LMT coupon. We present it at the time of purchase and they take $1500 off. That's it!

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
That is one beautiful car! I am so jealous you found one with all those options. I could not find a wagon with COMAND to save my life in white. I think the metal dash looks cool. Now you need SAT radio to use the button on your COMAND, and those cool blue light-up logo door sills.
I used the LMT (Love Mercedes Tour) $ 1500. coupon to buy my car, and the look on the face of the F & I was like he just lost his best friend.
The LMT coupon had to be used with MB Credit, so I continued to drill the price lower, and let him jack up the interest rate to 8%. I knew MB Credit was offering 0.9%. When the cash price of the MSRP $ 36,530. got to $ 28,955. I signed. I let the salesman drive my car home, and then I brought him back to the dealer. I went into the F & I guy and told him I deceided to pay off the car since the contract had no prepayment penalty, and handed him a check for the balance. That look was priceless!
I am curious littlemin, did you have to sign an agreement to not export the car? I had to promise not to export or sell my car to an export broker for a year, or I'd have to pay $ 7,500 dollars to the dealer. The contract is restraint of trade, and not legal or valid under The Sherman Act, but I am curious if other dealers are asking for this.

Yup, I sure did sign the 'no export' paper along with 10 gazillion other papers. I also signed the front license plate waiver because I told them not to mount the bracket. Can you say CHEESEBALL? Anyways, I don't really care.
I got the car at Caliber
My car was supposedly going to another dealer but was intercepted just in time because I wanted the charcoal interior.
House of Imports also has some good deals because I talked to one of their Internet Sales towards the end of last year and they offered me almost $2k off invoice too. But I chose Caliber for its convinience and my family bought our first MB there 14 years ago. LOL

LMT was a show and drive event sponsored by MB USA last summer. They had many models in the parking lot at Hollywood Park. You could drive each car around a short track. There were refreshments, pictures, and like all Hollywood events, a goody bag. There was a coupon for $ 1500 off the best deal if you financed with MB Credit.
I noticed on my South American Tour in January that C Class cars sell for double and triple US prices, but they have large import taxes, too.

Congrats on the car, finally! Now, how about a mini GTG on the Cisco parking lot? :p
Too bad Cisco didn't come out with the discount till November. If they came out with it a month earlier, I could have used the LMT and the Cisco discount...the look on the sales guy's face was priceless with the LMT alone, imagine if I used the LMT PLUS the Cisco!

I had to buy a car ASAP because my old car was totaled in an accident 1.5 months ago.
