Understand what you are talking about. I lived in Japan for 20 years and you want to see some gas prices! OUCH! I still have this idea (maybe misconception) that the oil companies are ripping us off (at least here in Hawaii). We purchase ALL of our crude from Indonesia but the index that's used to price the gas is based upon 4 areas of the US; East & West coast (primarily New York and California), Louisana and Alaska which from what I've heard is more expensive that the far eastern crude that's brought in here. All of our refining is local. What really riles people up here is that the gas companies NEVER lower thier prices in the same ratio that the mainland US does. Sure they might go up to and peak at 40 cents but when the rest of the country drops 20 or more cents, Hawaii MIGHT drop a penny or two. Oh well, gyuess it's the price we pay for being stuck out in the middle of nowhere and have to deal with a monopolistic fuel infrastructure! by the way we are at $3.00 per gallon for premium here in Oahu and 3.30 + in the neighbor islands!

Thanks for the point to the Octane thread.... Not worth it. Gonna stick with the 91 we got here. I should have known... Accidently (well not accidently just wasn't paying attention AKA brain-farting) filled half of my 05 Harley Heritage with 87. Even with mixing, it pinged. Wound up draining the tank and using the 87 in the lawnmower! Thanks all!

i always use 93

gas mileage sucks in the C32...i average 11.6 in the city and 17 on the highway

i got more than twice that on the old C230

In the UK , I use Shell Unleaded 95 octane..but if i want the best, then has to be Shell V-power which s 98octane..it is amazing the torque response..

although it is more expensive here in uk..1litre cost £0.89 while V-power cost £0.95..
exchange rate i think is £1 = $ 1.90
so once i fill a full tank of gas..it does literally make you cry looking at the cost..
