No matter what, we're still not paying what gas really should cost. I'm sure the Euro members would love to see gas for anywhere near what we are paying!
Just to add another thought, when you buy the car you know what the requirement is and just because there is some outside influence you can't change the deal after the fact. Just like a spouse, when you get married you know what you're getting. You can't get part way into the marriage and then treat them like dirt (or decide you'd like to date other people!), or you're going to be single again. I will say that it is MUCH cheaper to trade in your benz for a regular-octane car than to get a divorce...
