Well i took the cheap way out and i dont have the Real HIDs. i only bought the cheap Xenon bulbs its ok though they still look fine and are lasting fine for now. One day i will be intrested in the Real HID's. Or maybe i will just get my next car with them from the factory. But since u asked of a good place to install your HID's and i am actually trying to think of a good place, i am really not sure who i know that would do that. My friend just had his headlights redone on his eclipse and he had a place do it in pompano the place was called Prestons its a place where they customize alot of trucks but they also work on alot of import cars as well. i know they probally dont work on that many mercedes but i know that they really do a good job on cars. and since its basicly not that much different putting HIDs on cars they might be able to do it. Again i never been there but my friend and a cupple other people said they do good work u might wanna give them a call and ask them. i dont have there number so u will have to call 411. but other than that place i really cant think of any that would install them for you.
goodluck

In this case I suggest you reflect this fact in your signature... Xenon headlamps = HID headlamps. What you've got is *halogen bulbs* in which there is (allegedly) a trace of Xenon (inert gas), which is a total snake oil, as Xenon has absolutely no effect in incandescent bulbs.

although i know there not xenon people still call them xenon bulbs and it says that on the package so weather or not i have alot or a little xenon gas it still has some. so my sig will stay the same for now. it makes me feel better saying xenon headlamps then CHEAP XENON BULBS.

Headlamps are more than bulbs - a headlamp includes reflector, lens, housing, etc. OEM HID headlamps also include self-levellers and ballasts. So by saying "Xenon headlamps" you are misleading a lot of people (I've always thought that you've got HIDs - that's what your sig line essentially says).

so why when people just buy HIDS from HIDS for less can they say they have Xenon headlamps?? they did not get the reflector lens housing and all the other stuff. As i said before i know saying i have Xenon headlamps is misleading and is probally wrong. but its not wrong of me to even put it at all since i have the xenon bulbs. at least it has some xenon gas weather its 100% or 1%

Xenon gas in a halogen bulb is a pure marketing trick. It has absolutely no effect on the bulb's operation - it still stays a halogen-filled, incandescent bulb with a glowing filament. True Xenon bulbs are based on a totally different physical principle - they use an electric arc running through inert gas (such as Xenon) between two closely gapped electrodes. To ignite such a bulb (to start the arc), a ballast unit is needed.

in my opinion, yes, you are incorrect to say you have xenons.

you can call them whatever you want - i'd call them hyperwhites or razos or nokyas or piaas or whatever they are. the problem is, as scylas has shown, people may ask you questions about having real xenons and you can't answer.

if it makes you feel better, keep the sig as is. i'm glad you have xenon hedlamps and a kennwood amp. it's not that big a deal.

--

scylas, if you don't want to install them yourself, just call around - like local tuners. you still need to take the car in to a mb dealership to change the xenons=present setting. i personally had some difficulty installing them b/c i couldn't get the clips to lock in easily. but w/ vadim's 180 degree rotation technique, it would have been a lot lot easier for me...

thanks,

Thanks BlackC230Coupe for the info, Ill be calling the shop today.

Young, I have been checking some local shops, but they didnt seem to know what they were doing, so I was asking if anyone knew about a good shop. I printed the whole thread where you explained how did you install the HIDs, so I dont think its gonna be hard to install it.

I already have an appointment with my dealer next week, to change the settings of the car to xenon.

Syclas, I'm told that the Circuit City next to the Driver's Seat (Auto Accessory Shop) in Boca does the installation. I spoke with an employee of the Driver's Seat, and he claims that Circuit City installs them reguarly. BTW: the Driver's Seat does sell HID kits, but their prices are from another universe - get your HID's from another source. The Circuit City I'm referring to is located on Glades Road. Take I-95 north to Glades Rd. Exit Glades Rd.-make a right and head east. Turn right into the outdoor shopping mall located directly on the right. You'll see Barnes and Noble, PF Changs, etc..- all located within the mall - from the highway exit.
