2002 Mercedes S500
Upsolute Chip... does it void the warranty?
i want to get the upsolute chip for my S500 and i was wondering if those with the chip, did it void your warranty? im afriad if i get it done, MB will know i chipped my car, thus voiding my warranty. please help!

My guess is yes - if they find out. A lot of chip makers put software into the chip that allows the user to reset the chip to stock prior to service visits, then when hooked up to the diagostic computer, it will think that the chip is stock. However if the actual CPU is inspected it will be obvious that the case has been opened and the chip altered.

If they can prove that the chip caused the problem. More than likely if the ECU burns up they will blame the chip and I can imaging that they ain't cheap. Check that Upsolute dealer's workmanship, it takes skill to open the ECU desolder the chip, resolder it and make it look like nothing ever took place. From what Mark Cummings. Upsolute pioneer said, he can't tell that anything was done.

Out Of Control!!
Don't forget that our car's ecus are crimped together.
It's very hard to recrimp back together and have it look like it was never screwed with.
Upsolute was working on a swtichable ecu for the ccoupe, but I don't know if they ever finished it.
