Just a "purchase" was cancelled. I'm not going to be buying anything, but it is going to be a lot of money.

Okay...so for those of you that doubted it, the RF antenna IS hidden in the headliner! And as told to me by my technician (who abandoned the homeboys to go to the East Coast), the antenna was probably bad and it defeinitely needed to be replaced.

Anyhow, my SA is awesome! He had it fixed as a "good will" gesture, since my warranty barely finished 1 month ago.

If not, it was going to be a PRICEY fix! For those of you that get TINT, this is a heads up to make sure the install shop is VERY careful with the headliner area near the rear windshield.

I actually did for a while. The blue OEM tint made a huge difference, comparing to other cars without any tint. And especially after Phil telling me his experiences comparing the m3 to the C class w/ regards to the windows.

I got really light 3m tint (50%) and I love how it looks (considering I've been so hesitant to get it for so long).

Bumping my thread. Got Service A and SS brake lines installed at a great Indie shop in West LA (Santa Monica Blvd. near Mormon church).

Anyhow, I won't say what I paid (Very, very reasonable pricing), but for those that are local to the area, I found a place to go for those that are out of warranty.

One of the lead techs used to be at MB Bev. Hills and owner used to work at a couple dealerships in town before he started his own shop (since the 80's). Owner and lead tech are certified MB techs.

Oops...Yeah, Mormon Temple...LOL.

Yup, did a great job. It's a little 'bit of a difficult location (being on Santa Monica (which is always crazy busy around there), but the sidewalk is so big that it's easy to turn around.

Wow...okay, when I first had the ss lines put in on Saturday, I didn't feel that significant a difference.

On the way to work, with a ton of bumper-to-bumper type traffic, I definitely noticed the difference on the pressure for "quick stops" when traffic would stop suddenly (on Sunset and some in Beverly Hills).

Regardless, the combination of the SLK 030 brakes and the SS lines, I'm completely comfortable with my stopping power now. Even though there was little to no brake fade before, I feel a lot more secure about it now. True test will be on the way to and back from Vegas in December because that will mean some moments of slowing down from higher speeds!

G&N Motors did a great job on my car for service and I'm glad that I've finally found a local shop that I can trust and is extremely affordable!

Excellent.

Congratulations on securing the services of competent and trustworthy independent technicians that don’t take you to cleaners.

Those Teflon-lined braided brake lines will likely be my next modification. So many have done them (Saprissa, TruTaing, nlpamg, and others) with worthwhile results, it’s high time I did ‘em. What brand did you go with?

Unfortunately, they won’t be supplying pressure to those beautiful SLK 030 calipers.

haha...john let me know if you want to get the goodridge for the front. I only need the rear, but tirerack only sells them in 4.

Frank, I'm pretty sure that Evosport sells the lines in pairs... the price diff was not too different from buying all four.

i can get discount from tirerack plus there's no tax since tirerack is out of state.

evosport sells the Rotora lines, but I'm looking at Goodridge since the front GT already came with goodridge. it'll be easier for me to sell if i sell them in the future as a set.

Do you guys feel like a difference with new brake lines? I have the '05 so my rotors are slotted, so I have no complaints at all about fade, overheating, or anything.

Since you got them I would assume the answer is "yes", but idk what kind of a difference do you feel?

(I pretty much want to know if I should do it hahah)

The bigger difference that I noticed was when I upgrade to the SLK 030 brakes from my 2004.5 4 piston calipers / cross drilled rotors.

With the lines, the main thing I notice is the bite at the end (closer to stopping). It's easier to feather the brake than before, but it's not significantly more touchy, so perfect combination (especially since I live in the hills).
