Excessive bass

I've had my car for almost a week now and the bass settings in premium sounds seems quite excessive. In fact to have a balance I've set the bass to -6, has anyone else had this or is this normal?

I never thought I'd see those two words used in the same sentence... :p unless, of course, I am referring to the car that sits 4 cars back in traffic, my windows are up, and I can hear what HE is listening to. damn kids.

Only good bass i ever heard in a MB was in my dad's 95 S320. 4 bose subs on the rear deck, but still was not bass that I concider mind rattling. I hate the C class systems. I have more anoying rattle in my C43 than bass.

I agree with you. The bass in my car must be turned down to balance out the sound. The sound in my system has no depth(highs), it's all bass- very annoying. Ive considered adding extra tweeters, howevery I was told this could blow the amp. I have the bose "premium" pkg.

BMore, I also agree with you, the BASS is too much. I have mine turned down to -7. Its nice to have a powerful system but I think it takes away from the music its self.

Whew, for a moment I thought that I was living in denial about my middle-ageness . I too thought there could never be enough bass but when it really dominates it sort of takes the edge out of songs

I feel I get good bass out of my HK system...after playing with the settings for a while I have the bass at +4 and the treble at +10 / on surround mode - these are my settings when playing a CD and I love the sound...my settings for the radio are a bit different and I do not know them off the top of my head..My former car a 2001 VW 1.8T Jetta had the monsoon system in it and was pretty good for the money, but no where near the HK system
