Auto window rollup w/ remote?

I was reading the owners manual for my 05 C230 Sport Sedan, and it said that if you pushed the lock button twice it would rollup the windows and close the sunroof. It also said that if you hit unlock again after you unlocked the doors, that it would roll the windows down to vent for summer. Not working for me, any ideas? Is this an option, or a programming issue?
Thanks,
Aaron

Yeah, couple things. You have to press and hold the lock/unlock button. You just have to keep holding the button untill they are down or up as far as you want. Oh btw it only works when the key is pointed at the drivers door in line of sight; it cant be done from the passenger side. Anyways thats what I heard and it works for me.

Did they ever have a sensor on the passenger side? I know '99 E class had it on both sides. Wouldn't it make sense to have on both sides? Greater range would be nice too!

You need to hold the button and point at the sensor on the door handle.

My old 2002 C230 had the sensor on both sides, my 2004.5 only has it on one side.

Is there any way that that can be retro fitted? I would love to not have to walk into the street and around my car to use this feature!

That is a good question, but I don't know the answer. Being that it was not available on your year on the passenger side would lead me to believe that there is not a part available and the wiring probably isn't there. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject will chime in.

Its funny how the first 6 words in my original post said "I was reading my owners manual...". LOL.

Anyway, CarlsbadKmprssr, thanks for the input, You really have to "point" it exactly at the sensor for it to work.

Wonder why the door locks work differently with such good range, but the windows suck?

door locks work on RF
windows work on IR

I've got the IR sensor on both driver's & passenger's side, (2003 SC) and they both work great !!! Range is approx 15 feet.

All you have to do is get the sensor from a Eurospec car which has the sensor on the right hand drivers side. I recall an old post stating that it could be done.
