hey, id be willing to do it! we can drive up to the bay. let me know if you wanna carlos. its not dropping the headliner to cut, it routing the wire to the main lighting console area. it has to go around the pano roof. plus the bracket that holds the IMS mounts on the opposite side of the headliner. if you are willing to drive up as well, im game!

Can someone PLEASE tell me EXACTLY how the dealer turns on the alarm beep without de-activating the panic button on the '05 cars?! I want my dealer to do it, but they'll probably just give me a dumb look

ctC230k, how do u keep ur car soo clean? lol. can this chirp be activated on my 2003 C320 sedan? that would be awesome! unfortunately my car doesn't have an alarm, so if i close the panic button, i don't care.
anyone have an ML they tried this on?

Dean, will you be coming down to HB in May/June during Steve's next round of installs ??
cause, that will probably be the only time I have to drive up to the BAY anyway, but if you are down here, then I only have to drive 2 hours to Orange County !

well dean, im willing to drive up to have it done. im just sooo nervous about dropping my headliner, and thats why i havent installed it yet. i wanna get this done, but without a professional or someone who has atleast some exerience popping parts off, i just dont feel right. im willing to drive up, hopefully carlos can.

I figure labor rates are $80-$90 an hour, and they'll probably take just 4 hours in figuring out what they need to do before they even touch the headliner.
the cost of gas driving up to SF, meals and an overnight stay might add to be about the same.
Only exception: Dean DOES know what he's doing !!
any other peeps in California want to drive up and make this a "let's meet Scorchie Caravan" ???

yes, plus there is no explaining to Dean like we will have to do to the dealer. we will have to find the right tech, who is willing to do it and knows what he is doing. labor @ my dealer is $100 an hr. when my tech was explaining to me how to drop the headliner they said it was a 7hr job. but that was when they were replacing a pano and i dont know if that was the labor time for the headliner or replacing the pano. i would assume the latter of the two.
i definately feel more comfortable having dean do the install rather than some tech who has never even seen an IMS let alone installed one.

I can take off Monday April 18. So we can start heading up on Sunday 17th.

carlos, i cant take monday the 18th off. i missed school on the 11th since i was in vagas for my b-day. i can take a friday off for sure, but hard to take a monday off because i have a bio class followed by a bio lab every monday morning and math in teh afternoon.
