Putting on a front bra...

I wanna put a bra on the front of my car for an upcoming drive down to Florida to avoid any road chips and other debris kicked up by other cars/trucks. my concern is if there would be any edges of the bra that might rub or scratch the paint of the car after driving 18 hours at roughly 80 mph. i was thinking about putting some of that blue tape that i've seen guys use at the tracks. is that painters tape? you think it would help if i put some of it under the bra, maybe along the edges? thanks for any help and/or tips

If you are really worried about the front of your car... just imagine the whole CAR with a trip like that. Just rent-a-car and keep your baby in the garage while you are gone.

drove my bmw down to my house in royal palm beach twice and the only problem i had was the front end of the car. i'm staying down there for a couple weeks and would prefer using my car than spending all that money on a car i'm gonna wish i wasn't driving. plus i just got my windows tinted and tints in florida are like a necessity

[opinion]bra's are ugly[/opinion]

that blue tape is painters tape its not very sticky and leaves little to no residue on the paint. all though for the amount of money you would spend on a good quality bra you might as well go to a good tint shop and have the front of your car "clear shield" or other brand car bra films. clear shield is a clear plasic bra that goes on that car and stays on. works just like a bra you just cant see it and its on the car like a big sticker.

what's up toast. i've seen several cars with the clear bra, and the only thing i don't like about it is the line that's left wherever the film ends. looks like a straight line scratch with and exacto knife (sp?). i'll have to look into more though and see if there's a technique to make it less noticeable. thanks for the links though, i'll check them out

btw, i agree they're ugly. just want it for the drive down, take it off and put it back on for the drive back. i'm definitely gonna look into more though since i've already noticed a couple road chips from driving on the long island expressway every morning

i personally didnt have it done. but he did do my tints, and all of my freinds tints. Every single car i've seen with his work has been exceptional, and he backs it up all his work with a warranty. Good man that Sam.

I have a black front bra, and I use it every day. I haven't noticed any scratches or anything like that on the sides or the front, as I take it off every time I wash the car, and I drive about an hour every day at about 70-80mph. It's much better than the rock chips I was getting before.

I wouldn't go for the clear bra, simply because it really doesn't look good. There's no way to get rid of the line that shows where the bra ends without coating the whole hood. And it's expensive, coming in at about $400 for the materials alone (assuming pre-cut). I got mine for $50 off ebay. It works with my car color (Mars red), and I'm very happy with it. It's especially good because, if you don't want it later, you can just take it off or sell it. I'll have to get you the name of the manufacturer though; I don't remember it offhand. I'll get you a picture too, so you'll know what it'll look like.

I beg your infinite forgiveness in the tardiness of these pictures; I've had about 15 hours of sleep in the last 5 days due to a project. Here you are: better late than never. The manufacturer is Colgan.

Plus I get a silly excuse to show off pics of my car (and my new sig!) :p

hmmm, i wonder if they make it for the sedan/hood ornament...or i guess you could just cut the hole yourself, although you'd be better be careful before end up with a janked bra

Ask them to ship it out 3rd day ups ( orange ) you'll pay about 10% more in shipping but it'll be there in time. I am sure you will be pleased with the product.
