I cant get my amber lenses off?!

Well I just got my euro clear side indicators in and I cant get my stock amber ones off for the life of me! I have tried pusing in, and pushing foward. Ive tried just pusing foward or back as well but still cant get them out. How can I get these PITA ambers off? TIA...

stick a flathead screwdriver in the front edge of the lens, push it toward the rear of the car without scratching anything, the lense should slide back and the front part should pull out.

ctC230K is correct. I personally use a small thin rag to put inbetween the body and the front edge of the lense and then used a flat screw driver. this prevented from scratching the body. at the same time prying, and pushing the lense back (slowly!)....you'll see it separate from the body and it should come out.

Yes, it definitely helps to use something to pry the lenses off unless you have long/strong fingernails.

It worked great along with looking in the owners manual! thanks again guys, I gotta get pics up of my new baby!...if you cant tell the GTI is gone already and i got my benzo!

An old credit card or any plastic card works very well. Curve it or cup it around the edge nearest the front of the car (the card will be perpendicular to the surface of the car) and push back. I was afraid to take it off with a screw driver because it requires some force and if it slips, it would really do some damage. I also taped up the surrounding paint around the edges with painter's tape. Twisted up the plastic card, but it worked.

Blake,
your SEDAN is looking awesome with that AMG front bumper !
Need to do that to my wife's Pewter C320 SS. She's got the Euro Strips with Chrome strip too, only her's also has the PTS sensors for Parktronic.
Where did you get it ?
how much ? & pre-painted to Pewter ? Did you get the rear AMG bumper too ?
PM me to not foul up this thread. Thanks !

You would have to buy the Euro Impact strips with PTS holes. They come with PTS holes, and without. Also, PTS sensors, clips & harness are separate parts.

No. You would have to run the PTS front harness to the PTS main harness and get the control modules, displays, switch, rear harness, rear strip, sensors, clips, etc.. all for PTS.

A lot ! e-mail MBenzNL for his latest price quotes on PTS install.

Blake,
thanks for the info via PM.
Gives me a good idea on the cost. Might go with the a new part vice restored, to avoid any fitment issues. Will probably get her the rear AMG bumper too, since she's got AMG C32 exhaust. Also, getting her the rear Euro-plate bezel and the AMG C32 spoiler, and need to get those painted PEWTER too, so might paint everything all at once to save some $$$, rather than painting small items one at a time.

That's a helluvanidea regarding paint. Better off to do it all at once to save on labor. No AMG sideskirts? I have a friend selling his AMG front and sides if you're interested: https://mbworld.org/forums/classifieds/105036-feeler-w203-amg-front-bumper-side-skirts.html
It's a well taken care of show car, but the only problem is that they're painted Obsidian Black and will need to be repainted for your wife's car.
