Supplemental Restraint Warning???

Supplemental Restraint Warning???
The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) Warning light came on yesterday in my 05 SS and I have to take it in for service now. Has this happened to anyone else? Any idea what it could be? It only has 4k miles.

The Service dept. flash updated the ECU and had me back on the road in 20 minutes

I got a warning similar to that once, but it was because we were moving and my daughter lifted up off of the passenger seat, which affected the weight sensor in the seat.

I just had this same problem last week - ironically, it showed up the day after I took it in for its first free "check-up" at 2500 miles. They had to keep it 2 days and order some switch that is in the steering wheel's airbag. Don't want that thing going off without warning! Was really pissed, as this is my first Benz (or any German car) and have heard about the electrical problems...so hope yours is similarly easy to fix.

I had the SRS Malfunction happen to my new car after having it for only 1.5 months. When I first saw it, I was obviously nervous because I thought the airbags may deploy prematurely.
Turned out to be some sort of spring/coil that had to be replaced in the steering column. They had my car for 2 days, but gave me a 05 c240 loaner.
