My C230 Took a Nasty Hit (pics)
So driving into work yesterday morning, a guy in a 87 Acura Integra blew a Stop sign and T-boned my car. He claimed he wasn't from the area and didn't see the Stop sign. The cop gave him a citation on the scene, and pretty much he's at 100% fault on this one. Anyways...the car is really ****ed up...insurance company's sending out an adjuster this week to take a look at the car. Hopefully they total it so I can get a new one. 5 airbags deployed, the front passenger door and front lip/bumper are damaged. Looks like the frame is bent as well. I've only had the car for 3 months now, and the car only had like 2100 miles on it.
Here are the pics:

oh my god im crying right now, seriously haha, but those airbag deployments are really awesome to see, I've always wondered where the hell the bags come from! oh man i hope you get insurance to total it. good luck man.
BTW: what happened to the ****head that did that? i'd imagine his car is in 2,156 pieces. did he get the book thrown at him?

Well, on the bright side of things:
1) You're alive and able to post this on here
2) The other guy is 100% at fault
3) Hope that insurance covers full value of the car, so that you can get the new v6!
Hope you're okay though. If I were you, I'd be checking with the doctor to see if there are injuries (i.e. whiplash or back/neck problems) that could potentially develop later on. A lot of times, that is what happens. Good luck with everything!

No scratches, aches, pains?!?! Hey, as long as you're fine...that's what counts. Your car certainly looks totaled. If so, are you going to get an identical car?
Wow, those are bags did do it's job!

My condolences. 3 months and 2100 miles ....... that sucks!!
It's lucky that you did not have a passenger as it looks from the damage that they would have been injured even with the airbags deploying.

glad to hear she's okay! makes me feel safer in a car that's built to withstand bad accidents.

I'm glad to hear that you and your girlfriend are alright (for the most part).
I don't think that you would've been so lucky if you were in the Acura and the other guy was in the Benz.
I am impressed, however, in that even with the severe deformation of the door, the latching system held tight, and prevented the end of the door from intruding.
You guys were both very lucky. I hope that your luck continues, and that the insurance makes it right with both of you.

im sorry to hear that, but i am glad you are ok and i am glad benz builds such great cars to withstand such a blow as for the t-boner make sure you settle things with him i hate when ppl get away with such things, it cant be that he didnt see you or had a reason for blowing a stop sign at such a fast rate

Getting into a car accident should not be a money making experience. Insurance companies should pay to fix/replace the car, provide for a rental, and pay any medical bills. If both he and his girlfriend are fine, then all that is deserved is replacement or repair of his car.
Hopefully you ARE alright (medically ). From the sound and looks of things, it could have easily been much worse.

Wow. That sucks. The car is toast BTW. There's no reason to put it back together after such a hit, the cost of the bags alone is gonna be why they right it off.
Be glad you and the girlfriend are OK, and remember why we hate integras

ouch!
Give it some time before you determine if there is any damage to either of you. I hope there isn't. As far as your car goes....it's totalled. Don't settle for anything less than a full and new replacement and don't let them (insurance co.) feed you the line "it depreciates X% the minute you drive it off the lot". Your aren't selling or trading in your car. You deserve an equivalent replacement.

Hi
Sorry for your loss, and it's good to hear that you and your gf made it out fine.
How fast was the Integra going? I don't think you had posted that up there.
Also, while crash performance looks to be exemplary, I thought it's generally frowned upon to have the doors intrude into the passenger space? Yeah, yeah, it's a sideways crash, nothing much can be done there. Do the doors have braces inside?
Noticed that the REAR side airbag had detonated (ahem -- deployed). I guess there are no occupant sensors back there. Also, why did the front airbag deploy? It was a side impact, was it not? does not seem to be an offset.
Sorry to be peppering you with all the questions, but I am just curious.

Dude, with that kind of impact, it's crazy that you guys were able to function afterwards! I guess the C Class, though small, is pretty damn sturdy!...Can I just say one more time how much I LOVE THIS CAR!...
Was the dude who hit you remorseful at all or was he standoffish? Like I said earlier, make sure you guys get checked out by a doctor. If you sustained ANY kind of injuries from something like that, you should get compensated for that. It's only right.
Like I said earlier, it's good that you both survived!
