05' C230k problem?

This has happened to me twice so far in the past 5 days. I start the car and it runs rough, has smoke coming out the exhaust then stalls within a few seconds. start it again and it's fine. is this the carbon build up problem? i have my first oil change scheduled for monday morning, so i'll address the problem when i bring it in, but just curious if any of you have had this as well or know what the problem may be. Currently, i have 1,700 miles on my car. Thanks

Doesn't sound good at all and I have not heard of any similar problems on this board. Could be an AFM problem, thats what it sounds like.

On a side note...1,700 miles and your already doing your first oil change? A little early, isn't it (unless youve only driven your car that much in 1 year)?

they suggest and give a free 1k-3k oil change. that's what i'm bringing it in for.

The 1-3K mile service is not an oil change, just a checkup. Which in your case, sounds like you desperately need!

Good Luck

You also get a wheel rotation if applicable. Staggered Wheel sport sedans do not get a rotation. They get a funny look from their service manager.

REALLY??? My saleswoman told me they do an oil change to remove any particles from break-in

so it's just a check and tire rotation? (or just checkup in my case since i have a staggered setup)

I'm also getting the netherlands setting done and i want the rain sensor shut off.

I remember this used to happen on the old rx-7 fd with black smoke which I believe was caused by crappy cams. Oh wait no that was on the mitsubishi eclipse i think 4th gen (year 95 or so) and it basically burned oil. The white smoke I heard comes from I think crappy burning of gas (didn't burn efficiently) in which case I'm not sure but it might be cause by your cat (im taking a wild stab). There also could be water in your system im guessing... wildly. Whatever the scenario is, i know that smoke isnt a good thing. looks like you might have a lemon

i doubt it's a lemon. car runs great and this is the only problem i've had which i feel is pretty minor. being that it's happened twice within a few days of eachother, perhaps i could have gotten a bad batch of gas. we'll see, it's at the MB service center now and they're running it through diagnostics to see if it throws any codes back.

had i known there was no oil change involved, i probably would've skipped it as well. however i'm having the rain sensors deactivated and the netherlands setting enabled so i figured i'd go ahead and have it done anyway. i really wasn't even gonna bring it in for the stalling issue since it only happened twice and then started immediately after, but since it's there, i'll have them check it out anyway. if it continued, i would've brought it in.

my service rep just called and said the car threw back no codes and everything seems fine, but what's he's gonna do is order me a new rain sensor b/c it's common that the sensors have been problematic in being too sensitive. when the part comes in, he's gonna schedule another appointment along with a loaner car, and to let him know if the car stalls again and they'll look into it further. i'm sure it's fine, so we'll see what happens. netherlands setting has been done as well

When you get the paperwork from the dealership, can you provide the code that they list for setting the computer to Netherlands setting please.

Thanks

Just wanted to mention, that I'm not liking the beeping sound when locking/unlocking the doors. when i lock the doors, it sounds like a truck backing up. thought it would sound like my BMW's. When i bring the car back to replace the rain sensor, I think I'm gonna have them shut it off.
