help!! break replacement for C230 Kompressor

well I was told at the dealer service shop that I need new front and back rotors, pads and sensors!!! going to cost me almost $1000 bucks!!
I have 50K on it and I think it may be the time to change it but I have doubts.. I don't see any warning light for breaks.. Isn't it expected that a warning light should be on in this kind of a situation?? also is it normal that sensors need to be changed as well??? I would like to avoid the dealer service but most other services won't do it since they say they don't deal with sensor related work.
any recommendations??
thanks.

Buy Brembo replacement rotors - on Ebay if you want - about $285.00 a set - they will last 2X as long as the "soft" MB ones. Try using Minetex brake pads for low dust.

If you need new rotors, the sensor won't tell you that - it only tells you when the brake pads are worn down. And then, of course, if you need new rotors, you have to get new pads.

Do you feel shuddering when you brake? That would mean warped rotors, and they'd either have to be replaced or cut. I'd take it to a performance shop; shouldn't be hard to find one in NY. And if they say that you need the new rotors, I'd give serious consideration to the StopTech #1 kit; not too much money for an improvement in braking - if you gotta get 'em replaced, might as well improve at the same time.

If your car has had the original brakes on it for 50K miles, I'd say they are probably very close to being worn down. The sensors are only like $5 each. You car probably only has 1 sensor up front and 1 sensor in back. Since only one caliper per axle has a sensor it is possible that the non-sensored brake pad is worn more than the sensored pad, but I doubt it. Did you take the car to the dealer because of brake issues? Dealers often tell people they need new pads/rotors when they actually do not, in order to pad their own pockets. I had a recent experience like that with my Sequoia and the local Toyota dealer, but I only have 20K on that vehicle. I looked at the pads and they were just below 50% worn.

My stoptech setup rocks... great on track and the holy deal was under $700, fluid, rotors, pads, ss lines

I don't understand to point of paying the premium for Brembo replacement rotors when you simply purchasing rebranded Zimmerman's through Brembo.

No I actually took it for an expired state inspection. They may very well be taking advantage of that. I think they may very well be worn out given the mileage but I have doubts because of that.
I am actually thinking of taking it to another place for inspection and it will be my confirmation if it doesn't pass.
