I think those rings look just like the cheap painted silver that covers acres of dash space in any nissan product.

I like the idea of jazzing the IP, but a chrome ring, and the same woven metal pattern on the applique around the display would look a lot nicer.

If you like this, you can probably just paint the stock ones for the cost of some Panasonic Silver spray paint.

Like this. There is two slots on the side of the cluster. Need to use a hanger or tool to push the sides down and then cluster pulls out. Once the cluster pulls out just unplug and remove the plastic cover.

thanks man...I looked at my cluster after posting this and saw those 2 tabs and figured that I needed a key for it. My VW was like that to remove my monsoon sound system...but a broken cd (no joke) can actually remove the whole center cluster for the audio. Thanks man...I really dig it and helps clear things up a bit too

here's the AMG gauge bezel, I removed from an AMG C32 Coupé cluster:

These are the MB tools you need to remove the IC:

# W 140 589 02 33 00

WARNING / CAUTION: The IC has a "warranty seal" (an actual sticker) that stretches across the tabs that hold the IC together. If you break / tear this seal, and something goes wrong with your IC (meaning, you accidentally break or damage something inside the IC) while swapping out gauge bezels, your warranty is GONE !!!!

SOLUTION: Be extremely careful in removing, peeling back the seal. Use moisture and heat. Do not tear it. Be super super extremely careful when popping off the gague bezel. Do not touch the speedo needle. Do not touch any of the electronic instrumentation inside the IC.

Here it is installed:

CitronC230K_03 took out his gauge bezel and had it painted, as someone suggested above.... it came out really nice:

That would be the fake replica.

Mine is original AMG. Like I said in my previous post
it came from the Instrument Cluster of an AMG C32 Sport Coupé.
Bought it in Germany.
