As far as your obsession with green, you remind me of that eBay commercial where that guy put his lime green Honda on Ebay and his grilfriend says "Who's gonna buy a line green car?". In the next scene you see a guy and everything he owns is green and he bids on the car
HAHA< how'd you know that's not me? hahahah just kiddin'......

If that's the case, then it was definitely worth it! Like I was saying, much props for the effort and work you put in. If you search for the custom interior lighting setup the guy from Germany did, you'll see that he had to solder all the led's as well. It was some ridiculous amount of bulbs that he had to do! Supposedly it was 1 full weeks worth of work for the dash interior lighting. Not putting down your work at all because if you did custom work, it definitely deserves to be commended.

I don't think that is ANYTHING like the actual emblem itself glowing.

I have been trying for a long time to make LED taillight elements for my coupe. As probably everyone knows, you have to make the rear SAM unit happy, which I have done. Then I took a 211 LED element and took it apart, rearranged the LEDs on a new circuit board, and used the resistors for the LEDs in line, so that I have a working element for my coupe. The problem is, I just don't think they diffuse enough light to see clearly in the daytime. I'm still trying to think of a way to do it, but nothing so far.

So close, yet so far away!

Anyone else try anything like this?

You can just pry them out from the right side. You don't even need a screwdriver, you can use your fingers or maybe even a key. Like a real metal key.

Just buy some wide angle LEDs you can get up to a 120 degree angles on those things.

thanks, for anyone else that needs to get to these, they WILL come out, it took me a while and some aching fingers, but i finally figured out the easiest way to replace/remove the vanity lights.

1st it depends on which side you're on, driver's side will slide down from the left side and the passenger side is best opened from the right side. both on the sides closest to their respective window.

next, when you begin prying down, if you see metal up there, make sure you DO NOT pull on the metal part, the metal stays up there, once you get a big enough gap to fit something between the metal and the plastic, you need to insert something (between the metal and plastic cover, i just used a quarter (aka $0.25 piece )) and push INSIDE, there is a small thing that goes on an angle almost like a latch, you need to push on this and pull down at the same time to get the cover off and down.

once you've got the cover off, you can push on the black latch connected to the power and the entire thing comes down to replace the bulb (you dont need to do this part to replace the bulb but it sure makes it a heck of a lot easier.)

that's about it, if anybody needs pictures or more detail just ask

(p.s.-sorry bout the thread hijack :o )

hes greenmember. He loves greeeeeennnn!

way to be different! too much sameness then we're all driving the same cars again.

oh yeah. i like banville's idear about the glowing star. it could be a fiber optic plastic being fed from a single light source. then, you could trim the very edges of the star with chrome to still make it stand out in the daytime. could be a big seller! :p

FIrst off, the LEDs are made to my specifications by the manufaturer..

Second, all the llighting is made up by individual LEDs and I put them together to form whatever lighting fixtures I need.
