I need help...xenon light upgrade (Already Searched)

Alright guys I stopped by my parts dept. today and I am able to get the OEM Xenon bulbs from Mercedes at a great price and I had my friend check to see if all I needed to do was take out my halogen ones and place the xenon bulbs in instead and im good to go....well I guess not because the backs are different so its not a plug n' play. How do these guys get the same Xenon bulbs to work with their stock headlights like mine?! TIA its much appreciated guys Im really wanting to get this going...any help on what I need to retro fit these I guess would be great!

did you just get the xenon bulbs? To upgrade to xenon from halogens you need the whole kit: Xenon bulbs, which look totally different than the halogen bulbs, and the ballast to power them.

Please note there are many so-called "Xenon" bulbs on the market where they are direct replacement to your stock halogen bulbs. Those are NOT real Xenon (H.I.D.) kit and will NOT come close to the light output of a real Xenon kit. Your freinds are probably refer to those bulbs.

Well they work at the parts dept. and they pulled out the actuall Xenon bulbs for the Benz but I didnt know if I was able to just put those in alone, or what else I did need to get since like I said the backs of the bulbs had different plugs in the back in comparison to the ones I have. But these were real Xexon bulbs that all the Benzes do use...not just some knock offs.

I'm not saying you bought the knock-offs. I'm saying the knock-offs are direct replacement while the real ones are not.

If you bought from MB parts dep. then you got the real ones. Then you will need to connect the ballast to power those bulbs since they use different wattage than the halogens.

if you have halogens.. u need the WHOLE light assembly.

2 choices.

buy a "kit" that contains a ballast +wires + bulb (bout 200)

or buy the whole head lights from somewhere (at least 1000)

note: used oem xenon headlight unit cost around $400-500. I just sold mine for around that price.
