Thanks! Was up on LI this weekend, saw some old friends...people are blown away by this car...those who aren't car enthusiasts think it must have cost a fortune...they're stunned when (if) I tell them how much it cost.

I didn't see one the whole trip up or back...are there lots of these up there? Doesn't seem like it. I haven't seen one in Philly since I got mine a few days ago....which is a nice little bonus.

I actually don't see very many at all. but it's probably b/c they're still fairly new (w/ AMG body) and it's just a matter of time before they're rolling like cochroaches (especially in black or our silver ). People do think the car costs much more than what it actually is. great little car for the money

Where in LI were you?

Grew up in Massapequa...some family is still there...visited one of my best friends in Merrick.

I couldn;t believe it, the whole trip took two hours, on a Saturday of Memorial Day weekend...every year going home from school I would sit in 4 hours of Hamptons traffic backing all the way up to the Verrazzano.

I grew up in N. Massapequa. graduated from Plainedge HS in 96'. did u go to Massapequa or Plainedge?

you just named the two worst causes for traffic. the verazzano and the hamptons. I hang out in east hampton about twice a month during the summertime. but now i leave either thursday or friday night around 11pm and come back late sunday night. daytime traffic is ridiculous. actually just got back at about 2am from out there. so it only took you 2 hours from LI to Philly?

Congrats on your new car.

Post all the pics you want. Stock or not, you should be proud of your new ride.

Thats the problem with this forum...there are a few guys who have ridiculous attitudes. You would think that they were personally paying for bandwith on this site. This is a MB message board...if you cant post pics of your new car, why come here?

the thing about the w203 cars is most people would love the looks right away. I remember reading an excerpt of an interview with chris bangle. he was saying something to the effect of people would learn to love the design of the new 5-series bmw over time. It's been a while now and I still don't like it.

N. Massapequa as well! Went to neither of those schools though...I was in the Farmingdale district, graduated '97 (I've always hated the name of that town, makes it sound so hickish when we're only 14 miles outside NYC!) Of course I paid a visit to All-American!!

Normal trip from Philly to LI with NO traffic is ~2:05. My record was 1:49. I was expecting a 4 hour trip on Saturday. I was loving being able to really keep her moving the whole trip...

MBUSA sold ~ 30,000 C-Classes in 05...for argument's sake, if every single one of them was a sport sedan, that's an average of only 625 per contiguous US state. Of course that doesn't mean anything....Here in PA, with 4.5% of the US population, there should have been about 1300 C-Classes sold last year. that would be only one in every 35 sq. miles. Not sure the exact split between the C240 and the C230/320, but the 240 spreads that out even more.

No wonder I haven't seen even ONE other C230 since buying mine. 06 & 07 should lower the exclusivity, epscially for Raiders colors, as you mentioned ...

I'd guess that out of those 30,000 - 60% were C240's, 20% C320's, 15% C230's, and 5% C55's.

60% 240's? I haven't searched, but that seems a bit high. I'll google it...but if it is the case, then even better.

I was way off to begin with :o...C-Class sales in 2004 were 69,000 for MBUSA. The 30k number must have come from me improperly recalling the C-Class comprising 30% of sales.

Oh well. No split for car different badges...but if half were 230s, my sparsity statement holds up

well i'm talking about in connecticut, almost every single c class i see no matter what color or year is a c240, i see a few c320's and i've never seen a c55 on the road. of the w202's i see mostly c230's.

69K cars a year, and another 10K in Coupe sales wasn't worth it for MBUSA? Idiots.

On the new ride. (Gee, what are the chances, I have one of those too )
I love to see pics whether stock or modified.

Disregard the other idiotic comments.
