2005 C230 Kompressor
ct,

I removed the honeycomb grilled from my airbox cover. I don't believe I'm qualified to say whether or not there was an improvement, but there is a slight difference in the sound. Personally I enjoy the increased "whoosh" sound at higher revs.

Ah the sound bonus would be nice, performance wise i doubt it will do anything significant at all.

ctC230K, why don't you merge this thread with your other air intake thread. It's the same thing. No need to start a new thread everytime you get a dejavu going through your head.

Mercedes put that "honeycomb crap" there for a reason...the .000001 hp increase you might get from the mod is

haha. ok, the other thread got burried and i didn't feel like digging it up. airbox cover is now modded, BUTT DYNO SAYS +1 HP!!! honestly i didn't notice any difference at all, probably because i already have the K&N filter and it already makes a loud wooshing noise when the RPMs are high. maybe if i had the oem filter on it would make a wooshing noise? Saprissa, when you PM me your PAYPAL info and then send me $120 I will be happy to dyno this mod!
