Mod for black cars...
im sneaky using the comp. any way... when i get home ill show you all how to do this.. its not that hard. also if your trying this you cant do it to a black, white, gray, or sliver car. they are not accual colors on the color spectrum

In that 1st photo you can see it a mile away.
anyway for those who wish to try this here are the steps.
1) open your image
2) Duplicate layer & make your original layer invisable
3) on duplicate layer erase every thing but the car. this can be done a number of ways so pick the one your comfortable with. make sure you erase the windshild, visable windows, wheels, headlamps, grill, corner markers, ect.
4) go to Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation
5) in the Hue/Saturation box you will have several options in the pull down. your first one is master. when master is selected, when you slide the Hue bar you will see the color change, you will be able to change to several colors and sevral shades of those colors but you may not beable to get the exact color you are looking for. but eh.. its a start right? Dont use saturation or lightness on the master, it will either make your image grainy, dark/light, or both.
6) after you have played with the Master you can tweak individual colors. basicly if you dont get the desired color from master you would go in to each color and tweak. For example say your car is mars red (like mine) and you want to make it that cirtron green color i made in my previous post. well you can do this 2 ways, since red is an option in the pull down menu you can go to red, slide the hue to make the car green, then go to magenta (a form of red) and slide that over so make your highlights match. then click ok. now you may not have that color green you want. so now you will go back to hue/saturation and go to Green (since you just made the car green in the last action) here you will tweak the green, make adjustments to hue, Saturation(bightness or dullness of color) and lightness (overall dark or light). Or you can do the same steps but use the master to change the color to green first. however using master will tweak all the colors at once which sometimes can give an unwanted halo effect from another color on the darker edges of the pic.
7) after you have the color you want make the fist layer visable, clean up the layer you made changes to (any bleeding of color from saturation). and save.
if you have any questions feel free to PM me. or ask here. ill do my best to answer.
***on a side note: some one said use the replace color tool, that will not give you good results on a metalic/shinny object the replace color will ony replace one solid color, not shades of color, so you will have to pick every shade of the color in reflections. thats a pain in the ***
***After that play around and have fun
Drop it like its hot!
