Installed the clear corner lenses on the coupe today.

Here are some pics. I had to do a little doctoring to the lenses. I used foam tape to make it fit better and a fine bead of silicone to seal them. the silicone will not hard the paint and will keep water and stuff out. I used blue lights in them.

Nice.

Time to sweep out the garage, though.

Nice Timmy! I think the clear lenses looks best on silver colored cars (makes the lenses blend in better)

What's the blue dot/trapetzoide in the lens by the way???

That's the blue wedge bulb showing. What brand and color did you use? Super whites or Plasma Blue?

Looks good Timmy i like how they look with a silver car, it blends in nice.

Big Sheesh, Yes thats the guy, very helpful and fast shipping. I used superwhite wedge bulbs. I still may go with amber ones though.

Blackc230coupe: Yes its from sharper image, its my lil bro's.

Yeah i like the C7 wheels but, I may have a way to get some bigger ones. We will just have to wait and see, but the pulley comes first

Timmy:

You mentioned you bought some colored plate lights that actually fit, meaning they're the same size as the stock bulbs right?

What brand are they?

I got similar bulbs for my license plate lights. They were Hyper-B1 brand (used normally in ricers). I believe the bulb number was M-27. If you take the stock bulbs out, hold a ruler up to them, it should make finding correctly sized bulbs easy to find. The ricer bulbs are slightly shorter, but they still work. They work in mine.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1837822907 Ask him if he has any more of those. Also the bulbs are just the simple wedge type bulbs. I went to autozone and they had them in blue, amber, and regular halogen. I couldnt find purple. Just take your original bulb with you and the people at tthe auto store will be happy to help you. You will have to doctor the part a little to make it fit. its no biggy though. I used some "foam tape" and a little bit of silicone to seal the top of the lense. I used silicone bescause it will not hurt the paint and can easily be taken off. email me at z28boy@carolina.rr.com if you have anymore ?

So, if they're used by ricers, and you've got them, doesn't that make you a ricer?

Or is there some kind of Benz exemption that I don't know of?

Hey, T - give the guy a break; since he's got silver and goes for the monochrome look it's cool. As long as he doesn't follow through with Altima-style imitation-motorcycle-exhaust silver-reflector taillights

Looks really good, Timmy!

I just don't think our orion-blues need that kind of treatment; we'll stick with smurf-sock shifter boots

I'm really tempted to get one of those, Tommy. But I'm sure CST won't give me the price you got if I don't go for the whole enchilada. Plus the little cutouts would make me furious...I think you should have them redo it. How can they justify ruining an otherwise absolutely perfect job all around? Sorry, man, don't mean to rub it in...guess you learn to live with it. Nevermind me, I'm just yet another jacka$$ w/ a keyboard.

Hey timmy, i just won an ebay auction yesterday from him. I hope the lenses come soon and fits good. Did you buy the optional whites from him?

Anyways, everyone these days has clear bumper lenses, so it should be taken out of the ricer list! (doesnt VW have stocked clears?)

JoReL, take an old credit card, cut several strips off of one side, each strip about 1/8" wide. Superglue one strip to each of the two "horns" at the front of the lens housing. (The horns pinch the unit to the bumper from behind.) The strips go on the edge of the horn that faces the clear lens, not the side. You are basically making the width of the horn thicker. Trim the strips even with the tip of the horn.

Test fit the housing to the bumper after each strip addition. Layer more strips on top of the previous ones with more superglue until you have a fit to your liking. It should take no more than 3-4 thicknesses of stripping to do the job. Make sure the superglue is well-set before test fitting. (Let the glue set a few minutes after each application.)

This method makes a more permanent modification... tape can come loose with heat and water, etc.

Why don't you just get a blowdryer and heat up the U ring on the clear lens until it's hot enough to flex. Then pull it out with some pliers until you get a wider arch in the U, then fit it in.

That's what I did and it fits snug and perfect. It's better than using glues and tapes. It's more natural and professional-looking IMO.

Yo guys. i tried to replace the stock bulb to 194B which is blue thinking it will come out pretty white. Well that bulb really shined BLUE. Which looks pretty damn illegal. Is there any bulbs that shine whiter then the stock bulb but less blue than the blue ones.
