I knew about Michele's driver status, but decided not to confuse the issue with people who don't know racing. It was too bad, he was a pretty cool guy - I met him once.

When the left rear tire failed, it pitched the nose up, the same flat-bottom aerodynamics I described then caused the car to flip. The open c0ckpit LMP cars aren't as an efficient wing shap as the GTPs (much flatter), so are less likely to flip from the conditions that caused the Merc and Porsche accidents.
