Replacing the cigar lighter with cap/cover

You can delete the ashtray when you order in Europe. This gives you a cubby hole and the lighter is covered with a flip-upcover that seems to be part of the lighter itself - for those of you with ML's I imagine its something like the power socket in the trunk area.
Its option 304 (well, you can do this on a E, CLK, so I assume you can on a C)
I imagine therefore you have to replace the lighter socket with the MB part with the flip-up cover

So you're saying that even tho it's your car, and smoking irks you....out of principle, a cigarette lighter in your car would still lead to someone(or you) smoking in it?

I 'borrowed' a cover from a Nisson Maxima and found that the
height of the cover interfered with closing the sliding cover over the cupholder and lighter. Need to find a cover that has low
height, anyone with access to different covers should post the car make of low profile covers.
