Need help with COOLENT Temp/ 230 05

Hi everyone, my friend noticed that my coolant temp was just above 80 and stated that was really high for a car. He said on cars it should be below half. Do you guys think I have a problem? Do other 230 05 4 door members on here have the same thing?

Thanks in advance

My temp has not been high, but if you look at one of my posts over the weekend......I had a coolant check level light pop on for one day and then disappear. Car is running fine, but no trace of the sign and temp is good as well. A one time 80 on a really hot day and not too long not a major issue, but if it persists take it in. I'm jut observing my car this week to see if anything changes and if it does I'm taking it in.

Not sure how the thermostat is set in M271, but in a S/C M111 even 90 deg. C is nothing uncommon. Forced induction engines are hot.

80C is 190F, so that is very much normal with modern-day, emmission equiped vehicles....

Mine has never gone past or below 85 deg C. The outside temperature is between 82 - 91 deg F all year round.

My 05 also runs a little past 80. I figure that's normal since it is always at the same spot (except while it warms up in the morning.)

a little above 80 is totally normal. As long as its not in the red zone, you're good to go.

normal temp, the gauge sits at 80 and a bit above (on really hot days). no worries

You don't need to worry. If you engine gets too hot, you will get a warning (malfunction).
