StarDiag software
Is it possible to find somewere a manual describing the Stardiag software functions . Or even better a working copy of the Stardiag software itself?
I have seen there are lot of functions, and I'd like to know what is possible and what is not.

Yes maybe 5000 functions, and I know that lazy Mercedes mechanics do not know them all, infact very often they say me "it is not possible", next I search on the Internet, go home, and do the work by myself, and it was possible!
So if a software, or a "simulation" of the software itself where available, I could learn and force them to do their work.
i.e. just now I'm searching a way to activate the side electric windows without having the key in the ignition position. If only I knew there is a soft way to do so, I could ask my dealer to go in the appropriate Stardiag menu and activate that.

You cannot blame the mechanic for not getting the time to teach himself the deeper contents of stardiagnose.

greetingz,
Totally agree but quite often you can ask a question and they'll say "No, Not possible" when what they really mean is "I don't know and can't be bothered looking it up for you".

Instead I found Saprissa suggesting me to break my windows with a hammer when I want to use them without inserting key

"Stand outside of your car and point your key at the door handle. RTFM"
which sounds to me as an appropriate advice as the idea of breaking the window to open it without key.
Now please be kind with me: stop to joke and send me your copy of PDF manual, or even better a hacker version of the Stardiag you are playing with on your laptop!
:p

PrintScreen
When you get to that menu with the cool-ish feature you think you want, why don't you do an print screen. Take the image off your printer and go to the mechanic and say;
"Excuse me sir, can you possibly go to this menu on my car and turn on this feature?"

are you trying to open your windows, using your FOB key, via the IR sensor ???
that should work normally, by just pointing the key to the sensor on the door handles as AMDEUTSCH said. What feature are you trying to activate ?
