I just looked at other C230 dynos and it looks like our car is about 10HP and 10TQ stronger than others. It is a 6-speed, we ran it in the 4th gear and it was pretty warm in the shop - mid90s.

Car was originaly ordered for New York and it has been driven hard since 500 mile brake-in.

Due to the dyno being used for tuning other projects, we will able to test it next week.

Patience my friend, patience!

We also want to put some miles to make sure DME has fully adapted.

Next on the testing schedule is fully dampened larger crankshaft pulley. The prototype is complete and will be tested within next several days.

Can anyone share some light here ? Would a C200 and a C230 based on a M271 engine has an identical stock supercharger ? I checked with my MB dealer and the part no. for the supercharger of the 2 vehicles is different. If that is the case, does it make sense to change my supercharger to the C230 if my stock was based on a C200 ?

Just a guess, but could the part numbers be different due to the size of the pulley on the supercharger? Doesnt the C230 have a smaller pulley to make more boost?

Can I fit an Eaton Supercharger M45 on my C200 Kompressor based on a M271 engine ? Is this a direct bolt on or does it require some mods ?

Since we do not have 200 engine here is US, I do not know if there is a difference in blowers.

M45 is the smallest made by Eaton, but it is extensively modifiied by Mercedes for M271 use.

Never seen a dyno where the scales were different like that, throws you off but the dyno is probably not calibrated correctly if it's skewing HP and Torque like that.
That happens whenever the dyno operator isn't a "computer guy" and leaves it to the dyno's software to "autoscale" the rendering of the vertical axis for the HP apart from the Torque. This is done, however questionably, to maximize the use of the paper when rending the graph. The values are not affected. Just the scaling and rendering of them on the page. ...same crap happened to me, and I didn't notice before I left the dnyo shop. I would have asked the guy to fix the two scales to the same minimum and maximum had I noticed. ...but again, no error/skewing is introduced to the value of HP measured @ the wheels and calculated torque based on the final rendering onto the paper.

exactly, the guys running the dyno know cars not computers.

Time for a meet at Vadim's place, see the dyno and the brute force of the pulley in action up close and personal...

Perform a dyno on my SLK 200 today based on a M271 engine, 205 RWHP. Does this work out to be approx. 250 BHP ? I must say that the German guys from MKB did an excellent job.

The stock BHP of the SLK 200 is 163 HP. An 87 HP gain is really incredible. Those MKB guys are top notch !

Look at the Dyno Chart....

Looks like he's got the Engine Conversion Tuning. It says it puts out about 240HP, which matches what he indicated. According to the MKB website it's Part-No. MKB 27123:

Increase in performance 176 kW (240 HP) at 5900 rpm, 300 Nm at 4800 rpm
modification:
engine conversion with special pistons, high performance camshafts, intercooler,
manifold s/s, metal catalytic converters and complete exhaust system s/s,
adaptation of ECU, thermostat and sport air filter, Vibration damper with bigger rimdisc

ones too fast according to CHP!
MKB is very good product. Typically on par with the best made here in the US. They have an advantage to getting product out earlier due to their proximity and connections to AMG.

However.....the products are VERY expensive. When I say "very" I mean typically 2-3 times US product.

We feel like our product will be superior for some technical reasons (the dampner technology) and for the price/value equation.

Thanks,
Brad

Yes and No.

Yes = yes, there has been some progress and updates.

No = nothing I am prepared to disclose yet.

The problem is that when we detail all the little steps, people get crazy anxious and start "blasting" us or making snide comments about the delay or time it takes. This is development, it is not a quick process. If it were easy, everyone would do it and there would be a ton of well engineered products available. It is hard, and it takes time and money to do it right, sometimes more time then expected and usually more money then expected! LOL

I suspect that the next update we will have is when it is ready to go to full production, which we expect to be in the next 30 days or so, but again, see the paragraph above.

Thanks,
Brad

Brad,

No problem. I completely understand how long R&D can take. As far as I'm concerned, take your time, get it right and when it's good to go, I'm sure you'll let us know.

Thanks,

I wish Vadim would have never promised to show dyno results last week, which he later revised to sometime this week
Now it looks like in reality we won't see anything for a LONG time

I concur, look at the original thread for this and their original projected date... Tack on another few months.

See, this is exactly what I am talking about. Vadim did not promise anything, he shared with you all the expectations and plans we had at the time. We are a multi-threaded company and have many current projects, cars and products in development. Priorities and schedules change daily. We do our best to stay on schedule, but due to the above plus issues related to vendors supplying parts on time or our need to change items, things take time.

Problem is that we get excited to share and know people like to see the steps. But people seem to get, well, irate, when things don't work out exactly as we plan. This really takes the fun out of the process and really eliminates the incentive to share anything about the process and development.

Thanks,
Brad

All that, and not one piece of information regarding the dyno results expected today or tomorrow.

You got anything sir?
