I just got back from one of the local MB dealerships. I loved the C230. Unless they do a re-design that significantly messes it up, I'm pretty sure it will be the car to replace my Saab in the near future. I love the way it drives, looks, feels...and the interior is much nicer than my Saab's.

I want a Mars Red C230 (w/ the new V6), black leather, sunroof package, and last but not least a 6 speed manual.

It'll be a little bit before I get it...but my brother is turing 16 in about a month, and he's getting a C230 Coupe (slightly used) for his first car.

I'll just steal his from time to time just to hold me over until I get my new C230 sedan.

I think I've just become a MB fan...six months ago I would have told you I hated MB. Funny how people change, huh?

 

Well Kyle you better learn to search the forum before you make another statement about "Unless they do a re-design that significantly messes it up". There are numerous speculations, opinions and pics floating around.

 

Well, the redesigned body is supposed to come in 2007 (w204 chassis), so you better swoop up the 2006 model. Plus, the 2006 model is the 230 v6 engine (don't know the engine number) and I'm sure there are a lot of 2005 230 K SS (m271 engine) that you could pick up for a good deal (because of the 2006 models coming in).

Nah, I'm glad they're changing it. The current style is beginning to show it's age a bit. I love it, but I'm always up for a change...as long as it's positive.

I just how they don't get weird with the styling and mess it up. If the new S-Class is a preview of things to come...Im liking the direction they're going.

I can't get an '05 or an '06. My Saab is a lease so I'm stuck with it for two more years. It's okay, I like the Saab, it's pretty comparable to a C230 anyway. I'm just planning ahead.

 

Not entirely true.....

To keep me grounded in reality, my parents are making me pay for about half the total cost of ownership on my current car. They do pay for my insurance, gas, etc. They'll continue to pay about half of any car I buy as long as I'm in school. That will include my future C230.

I was actually seriously considering a new SLK280 a couple weeks ago, a C230 is on the low end of my price range, so I don't see there being any issues.

 

in that case, come back in a couple of years... and check out the W204 forum !

Ok...Saprissa, I shouldn't have said "love". I'm not even sure I'll get a C-Class. I still love the new 3 Series as well, so who knows. A lot can change in two years. I'm just starting to look/get info early because it takes me forever to make up my mind. Geeze, give me a break. At least I'm actually interested in the car, and MB in general. Can we create a "30 and under forum"?...haha, just giving you ****.

Reguarding the W204. I just did a search. If those autobild pictures are real...I'll be leaning toward the E90 3 Series instead.

I'm liking the W204 exterior, but that interior is HORRIBLE. It would be enough to make me buy something else. Like other people have said, It DOES look like an Acura.

I doubt that's the real thing, but if it is...it's nasty. I even like my Saab better.

At least you guys have a sense of humor. I signed up at an Acura forum awhile back when I was considering a TL instead of the Saab.

They all treated me like **** and acted like I wasn't good enough to buy a glorified Honda because of my age.

I haven't had that feeling yet here, which is cool.

most of the posts are here to help, it just requires searching.
Obviously however, there isn't much posted here about 2006 models or the yet to be unveiled 2007 models. Same things happened (not necessarily on this forum) elsewhere, when W202 was phased out to W203.

once a new model is announced, there seems to be a black-hole of information for about a year, and even then, most people are always reluctant to buy the first model year of a new chassis. Too many bugs and glitches to work out.

Best bet is just to passively lurk and see what MB owners b!tch & complain about now,
and take it into consideration when getting ready for purchase.
I lurked on MBWorld for a whole 12 months, before I signed up and posted.
