06 ML350/500, SL500 Recall, will the 06 C350 be there too!?
I have a friend working in the service department and he said that the 06 ML350/500 SL500 have engine recalls, they have to replace the whole engine/tranny unit due to oil leaks!? said there might be a possiblitiy with the 06 c350s too, said theres a slight problem with the engine production quality? I think its maybe kuz of the MLs are made in the US, but what abt the SLs... Just letting you guys know! safe to wait just maybe a lil more to see how everything works out!

Kompressor kinks worked out
This is an example of what can go wrong with a new model. So, for the '05 Kompressor people bumming out because of the new 230 and 350, you should at least take comfort in that you are dealing with a set-up that has had most of the bugs worked out.I knew about the new engines and still ordered one of the last '05s.
That said, I was "trying on" an entry level Mercedes after a long run of Acuras and I really like car so far. I may even end up ordering an '06 C350 or C55 before they change the body as I think it is beautiful and close to perfect with its ergonomics. The '07s will probably have that higher window still, less side glass design that I hate. I'm I the last person who likes to drive with an elbow resting on an open window sill on a nice day? Try that on a CLS and you'll need to drive right to the chiropractor.

anyway though, i will not be surprised at the problems the 06s will have. i remember how most people that bought the 01 had probs when the c changed from w202 to w203

In that case some may want to read the SLK forum. There are some who have gone thru all kinds of frustrations because of oil consumption on their 350 engine.

If the CLS got into a car accident, the doors are locked....and if ur over 160lbs, over 6 ft, ur totally screwed...the "crawl out the window before we blow up into pieces" would be a nice idea wouldnt it!? lols
besides, I have a 2003 C320, ML500 and S430 4mat, and also a 04' E500...3 out of 4 fully breed German car, and 1 US made...I hate my ML, Less than 25,000 miles on it, I have already bought my car in for service over 30 times. One issue, then another, then another. My car shut off on me when I was on the highway, no power, no lights, It was screwed. The other 3? no problem at all.....Never again buying a US made MB!!!
