notebook attachment
stff did not turn up anything for me, but i will still keep looking. i think brian had a thread like 2 yrs ago on this....
anyway, this is regarding putting an attachment in the car the would hold your notebook. something similiar to what police officers have, but smaller and one that is 'clean' installable (maybe even retractable/easily removable when i have a passenger).
basically trying to mount my ibm x40 (3 lbs) front of the glove compartment away from center console just a bit.
[and no, i will NOT be using this to browse the internet while driving or doing other potential dangerous activities while driving]
any ideas greatly appreciated. thanks.

I know it's not terribly pretty, but this looks like one of your better options.

The ones that they have specifically for Police Interceptors/Crown Victorias can be viewed here: http://www.laptraveler.com/police.htm
That looks pretty heavy duty, but they're built for high speeds with heavy laptops. You might want to try using a mount from one kit (to get it behind the center console cover) and an arm from another kit so as to hold your laptop. I remeber seeing someone who mounted an MP3 player on the right side of their center console, where the mount was screwed into the radio screws behind the aluminium cover, on these forums somewhere, but I can't find it now. Maybe that's more what you're looking for?
