Parking mirror Problem!!!

My rigth side mirror turns down to see the side walk when parking but when I put 1st gear it won't go up to the memorized position!!!

I went to the dealer and he programed the mirror and it was ok until I pass the dealer gates
The dealer told me that I need to install a complete new rigth mirror!!!

My car is out of warranty for 4 months but I have a extended warranty ( called NSA in Europe) but it doesn't englobe these parts

I didn't ordered the mirror because I was thinking to order Steve the folding mirrors, but, Its there anything I can do to make the mirror work propely???
I have to suspect the dealer, don't I

Have this happened to anyone else???

Yes, and in most cases it was the control module in the door and not the mirror. Been discussed on here previously. HTH

i know this is an old thread... but i was wondering about the tilting passenger side mirror when parallel parking...

my 2003 coupe never does it, and i couldn't find the option under the command options to activate it. one of my friends has an 2002 coupe and the option is there... is this something i'll need the dealership to do?

thanks!

if you're implying that i have memory seats... then no. i read on the online manual that you can program the mirrors if you have memory seats, but since i don't im not sure how to.

i called mercedes service and they said i should have the function... so who knows why it doesnt appear in my instrument cluster display as an option.

if you have that feature just put it in reverse and press the mirror button for the right hand side. if it works you have the feature if it doesn't work then you don't have the feature.

Actually, I'm glad this got bumped. Anybody have the links to the older threads that discussed this? I want to see if there was anybody who got it fixed under warranty.

Anyways, mine has been acting up also, so gonna have it all on the list for service b fixes.

The parking mirror setting only works when the control button for right side mirror is depressed (the one which you press before adjusting the right side mirror). If the driver side mirror button is depressed, then the parking setting does not work when in reverse.

If it has never worked for you, that is you are sure it ain't broken, then it is possible that parking mirror feature is set to 'off'. I would suggest you check the setting before going to the dealer. To change it
1. Access the menu. Use arrows to go to different menu's.
2. On the page where you see a list like Vehicle, Lighting, convenience, select 'Convenienve' and press menu buttons again
3. Use up/down arrow till you get to the mirror settings and set it to 'On'.

Hope it helps.

I have an '03 C230SS. When I go to the page with vehicle, lighting, etc., there is no 'convenience' selection. I don't believe my car has this feature ... I thought it was an option, not standard???????????
