all my friends have cut their springs. A lot of people don't recommend it, but i think it looks really sharp. The only problem you will run into, the lower the car, the worse the camber. meaning; be ready to buy new tires all the time.

i would buy new springs and cut those if it is not low enough for you, so you still have the factory to put back on if or when you sell your car.
as for cutting springs. where do you live? i know this may be different. the cost of lowering is so costly where i live, so i talked to one of the service guys at mb, and paid him on the side to do the work. you can also goto a place that works on brakes and shocks like monroe, and snoop around, and ask one of the guys if he knows how to work on a benz, and tell him you'll pay him on the side if he can cut your springs for you.

springs that are cut will also tend to bounce/float as you're driving; it ruins the ride.
springs can be cut with electric saws that can cut thru steel. i've also seen a muffler shop use blow torch to cut the spring...

If you like to drive feeling like you’re on a pogo stick then go for it.
I rather sacrifice looks than performance, remember you have an MB.
Save you money and get a kit that will lower your car the way you what it with out compromising the engineering of the suspension.
You could purchase springs out there like Brabus, which will lower your car, lower than the other manufacturers.
As you know the most common springs out there that is highly recommended in this forum are H&R's, However these springs might not be low enough for you.
Attached is a pic of my car with H&R's and 18-inch wheels with 245/40/18 size wheels.

On my old car (not MB), I have Eibach pro kit and I cut one turn of the spring on both front and rear. The drop is pretty nice and the ride was good (I have both Eibach spring and Koni shock). The bad thing is everytime I lift the car the spring will came off the seat. So I have to put it back on the seat and slowly lower the car.
Back in 80 (I'm old ) we use to cut stock spring with either grinder or torch. Then change the oil in the shock to be thicker. It bouncing like hell but I was enjoy watching bouncing **** on the passenger side.

I cut my front springs 1 coil. I just took it to a machine shop. They charged me like $5 per spring or something. Very fast and easy for them. By the way I cut H&R springs. I really dont like how there is only 1 type of spring kit for C320 and C240. The C240 has a smaller engine and is not as heavy as the C320, therefore my front looked like a jeep.

since you have cut 1 coil in the front, how is the tire wear? how often do you have to change your tires, and how many miles do you drive per year?? thanks
