Installing Front Camber/Crash Eccentric Bolts (Possible DIY)
Hey guys, gonna be jacking the car up with the death-jack to take pictures of the "simple" install I plan to undertake this afternoon. I recently acquired 2 sets of camber bolts from the dealership in attempt to correct my front camber at least 1/2 a degree. If anyone needs them, this is the part #.
A 000 330 00 18 (Camber Bolts) x 2.
It's a rather cheaper solution than going straight K-mac fronts, might as well try them right? Now usually the car will not come out of the factory with these. BUT if you've ever had an alignment at the dealership, the only way to do it is for them to actually replace your bolts. They're not meant to stand out and look different (so says my source) but they look surprisingly similar. Again, pics will follow for all ya'll to see. Patience!
BTW, if anyone knows which arm these actually will go on (after I provide pics), PLEASE chime in. Thanks.

Now shots 1 and 2 are the bolts that need replacing (which one is the question, those are the 2 different control arms). They were also taken by me lying upside down under the front bumper to shoot them.
Pictures 3 and 4 were shot from me being upside down just behind the front left tire and jack-mount point. Here you can see all the control arms.
If someone here could take my picture 2 or 3 and maybe circle red in paint which arm end bolt needs to be replaced, that would be great. Or indicate either pic 1 or 2, etc. Thanks in advance.

Now it does elude me on where these bolts should go, since if I replace the bolts on either positions (am I even looking in the right place?), I'm still skeptical on just how these bolts are supposed to give me a small camber correction:

Questionable...
Now in that last picture, take a look at the bolt coming out AT you (not the one in the far back, where I'm thinking these bolts should actually go). Doesn't it seem that if I replace that bolt with a correction kit (the picture of the camber bolt kit is below), it would give me lateral camber adjustment? Anyone have any thoughts? Gonna be referring people from the other forum over to here as well.
Who woulda thought replacing a bolt took so much thought huh? Haha.

I really wish I could help you on this....
my suggestion is go back to the Dealership, and ask a friendly SA to see if they can get and print out the WIS for camber bolt installation from one of the techs. The WIS includes diagrams and pics, as well as the proper tools needed to perform these tasks.
other suggestion is to PM some of the track racers on this forum, that have take apart their suspension set ups many times over & over again.
my wife's C320 SS had the camber bolt correction thing done to her car, but it was part of her initial Service A done under warranty to correct steering pull, and free one-time pre-12K mile alignment.

Went ahead and asked the nice people at the dealership for the WIS printout and got one. Sadly, I don't have a scanner right now or I'd be posting it. Looks relatively easy enough and it seems that the replacement bolt is for the lower control arm (as seen in the pictures above). Will start work and worklog tomorrow. TY Carlos. If you do get to the finished/installed pictures, that would be great as well.

Thanks KwiK! Quite a detailed sheet you have there. Mind my asking, where the heck did you get something like that! Dealership only provided me with the part-diagrams. That's the best schematic/walkthrough I've seen yet.

The only adjustment that would prevent the rear tires from rubbing is increasing negative camber which would defeat the purpose of the camber "correction" kit. Some of us are already walking the fine line. Any increase in positive camber would mean rubbing 100% of the time.
