I just order one from this guy, but I try all three computer on my work, NONE of them can read the DVD( Its like there is nothing on the DVD, the computer keep asking me to insert the DVD disc), I just send them(3 DVD) back and try to get my money back, try some other guy if you can !!

Anyone have english instructions on how to install? I click on install, and I get a missing DLL messsage, but no log file or name of DLL.

I found my problem, the manual is on a DVD9 or Dual layer disc. Windows does not read the dual layer drives by using explorer, so you get a message to insert disk. Simply use the burn software like NERO to read the DL DVD.

My level of skill is fluid changes, bulbs, some tuneup filters and plugs. Weak on interior panel removal, without breaking that is. This started with trying to remove a cigarette lighter to replace it.

The vehicle is a bone stock 2005 C240 with 93k on it.

I have an fsm, 3 volumes, for 94-96 Chevrolet Caprice/Impala and it has been worth every penny especially after scanning it which allows me to print pages and not dirty or damage the original, also handy to email pages to other guys who need some help.

If this is any good it should be the same type of value.

This CD (DVD?) is available directly from 1-800-mercedes for $60. It's not WIS (of which I have a copy but can't figure out how to use it), but it's essentially the FSM for our vehicles. Worth every penny.

thanks for your quick response on the question re manuals. I am going ahead with the 1 800 mercedes. What is the WIS.? We drive to San Diego from Texas and come in on IH 8. Nice road if they would let you open it up a little. Are you in that part of the desert or further north?

I'm further N, up towards Death Valley. Some nice spots to open it up out here with minimal chances of CHP interaction (but always a chance of course). I've driven on 8 too, but not as enthusiasctically as out on the deserted desert roads...

WIS is the full blown factory computer manual. It kind of takes over your computer when you load it though, and is not very user friendly (to me - seems others have no problems with it).

Thanks for the info, definitely a call to 1 800 Mercedes. I understand there is a test facility out there in DV for vehicles. A nephew was out there and ran into some BMW people, he is a BMW freak. He mentioned some bar or cafe that has a ton of automobile memorabilia or junk on the walls.

Yep, lots of test vehicles out here from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney. Summer before last I got stuck behind a small caravan of Mini test vehicles going up one of the canyons N of Whitney. More than occasionally you'll see the vehicles with the black sticky stuff all over trying to hide themselves. The Honda (Toyota?) test track is ~30 minutes from me (oval test track out in the middle of nowhere).
