Yep. I keep meaning to get it added to my car, but I just had the satellite radio integrated into the system and have been listening to it. What a wonderful option.
The Ipod docks in the glove box, charges, and plays through the stereo. The playlists can be cycled using the phone buttons on the stering wheel. I really need to order this, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

It will work with the stock HU; however, I'm not quite sure if you have to get the phone option enabled to have the phone buttons control the playlists. I read so much on here that I can't remember everything. Lots of good posts.
You'll have to do a search for this piece of information.

no....just the option enabled. It will work with it not enabled, you just can't use the phone buttons to select menus and play list. Only the up and down arrow work.

I don't understand the Ipod. Clumsy controls, lame software, can't upload, can't record, no FM radio, and a battery that is "built in."
It is popular, but so are Suburbans. I can't see the excitement from seeing the song playing and using steering wheel controls for about $ 500.00 on top of the hunderds paid for the device.
Why not connect the AUX Input cable for less than $ 40. and use any portable audio source in the car? MP3, Walkman, Laptop, DVD player, ect. Works for me, and with the money I saved I bought a Sirius receiver.

the reason is because it looks clean when you dont have to see the ipod and control the damb thing while your driving also you dont have to mount some stupid sirus radio and last better chance selling the car with it in there.

It does look clean, but the Sirius receiver is also fully integrated with the head unit and steering wheel controls. It is also invisible, not taking up space in the glove box.
I did install an Ipod kit, and it is simple. The hard part is knowing the "secret" of removing the air con center grill. (Release the tabs to allow the vent to turn past the 'up' stop, then remove the screws). Takes about an hour.
Unless you plan to sell your car quickly, Moore's law will make the Ipod as useful as an 8 track player in the dash. Look how CD changers have become less than desireable with MP3 players so readily available. Even Ipod is moving on....having inked a deal to buy huge amounts of 4 gig ram chips from Samsung. Those mechanical hard drives are listening to the fat lady sing. I don't see how it can sell your car better than new floor mats.

ok controls, ok software, can't upload, can't record, no FM radio, and needs a car battery, fixed in car, and can only carry 6 cd's which you may like to play in your house, no tag information
whereas ipod carries all of your cool (and sad) collection.
ipod integration kit in uk is £225+vat including fitting

You SHOULD be able to order from dealer. They have had a circular about it.
