In the market for 2002 C230 K. NEED HELP!!
Hello All,
I am in the market of buying a used 2002 Mercedes C230 Kompressor. However, the dealer that is selling it is not a Mercedes Dealership, but another one. The advertising on it states that it still has the Factory Warranty on the car. I just wanted to know the warranty that came with the car in that year.
I dont know if there are different kinds of warranties that could have been purchased for the car in 2002 so I wanted to know what is the basic type that come with the car. For example, would it be 5year/160,000kms or 4 year/120,000kms?
I know if I wanted to purchase and extended warranty from a MB dealership that it has to meet certain conditions.
A) Must be still under original factory warranty and the extended warranty has to be purchased before 48 months or 80,000KMS (Canada)
B) All work on the car should have been done at a MB dealership
C) Must pass a inspection by a MB dealership
I just wanted to know if anyone has purchased an exteneded warranty after buying the car from a DEALERSHIP OR PRIVATE PARTY THAT IS NOT a MB dealership. (especially if they live in the G.T.A. area of CANADA)
If anyone could please please please email me or post the info it would be greatly appreciated.
Also could someone please post pics of the front center dash console of the car (the radio part) and the steering wheel. I went to the dealership and forgot how it looked. (This is for a 2002 C230 Kompressor) Thanks.

So is this center console from a different year? if so, which model/year and is it basically plug and play or do you have to mod it.
I see in your sig that it states its a "Euro Comand" and "Climatronic" as your mods. Were these mods done by you, if so, coudl you post exactly what parts needed to complete this task.

The COMAND system takes a little more work as some connectors have to be added to the wiring harness. The unit itself is a drop in and fits perfectly like you see in my picture.
I did not do the mods myself, I had them done by a sponsor on the forum named Steve. He can be emailed at steve@mbenznl.com to get details on prices and install dates. He lives in the Netherlands, but travels the world doing installs to Mercedes vehicles. Many members of this forum have used his services and he comes highly recommended.

Could someone please post the service reminders (dates/kms or miles) that should be done on this car. For example on my 2000 AUDI 2.8 Quattro, In the owners manual there were service reminder dates.
I know there is a "service A" and a "service B", any others except those?
Also if someone does decide to post that info, which woudl be greatly appreciated, coudl they please post Canadian Version (if there is one).

Amd's right, the manual should be the first place to look when regarding this kind of information.
BTW: Your car has FSS, that means it can go from a few thousand miles to some ten thousand miles before asking for service.

Thanks but as you can tell, I havent purchased the car yet so I dont have the manual. If I did I wouldnt be asking. I wanted to know the service intervals because the car I am looking to purchase is used and I want to maek sure that all service has been done to car.
