KW Coilovers and spacers
KW Coilovers and spacers
Since I didn't get much of a response from the C55 forum or from KW I figured I'd try here. Not sure if there's a significant difference from the regular W203 but here's the question anyway.
Have any of you tried running KW coilovers with the stock 18" wheels on a C55? Please let me know if it was possible without rubbing and running spacers. If spacers were required what was the thickness? KW did mention I needed a spacer but can't say how thick. Thanks in advance.

Hey there, I've got the KW V2s, it all depends on how low you want to go though. You might encounter some rubbing issues, but I'm not too sure with what you have. On my end, I'm using the brabus wheel-specific spacers because they were included with the wheels. But I can tell you outright, without them I'd be rubbing a coil. The rears I've never had a problem with, spacers or not, this only applies to the front. Oh.. 5mm in the front, but heck I could be using 10mm brabus spacers and not worry about vibrating (since they screw and tighten directly onto the wheel itself).

edit: I drive a C230SS, but I don't think there's a huge difference between our KW sets.

For me it depended on the right offset, tire width and sidewall, and ride height. I assume that you don't have the option of wheel-specific spacers and may have to go with hubcentrics (H&Rs) w/ longer bolts. If so, be aware of this problem and its solution (which worked out alright in the end).
