slooow wipers
got a '02 c240 yesterday, as I was driving today in a nasty rain storm..the type where you can't see more than say 40ft in front of you; my c240's wipers sure didn't help any. I tried both auto and manual modes...its just plain slow. anyone have this problem?

yes the storm was intense...and driving in it was definitely not recommendable...but I have found the problem...user error maybe
after the first two wiper settings, theres significant resistance going into the final setting. since my eyes were glued to the road I figured I was at the maximum setting. don't know if thats normal yet, have to read the user manual.
funny if it turns out to be normal..never encountered anything like that on any car I've ever driven.

I had a similar situation with my windshield washer....I needed to clean my windshield and kept pushing in on my switch but getting no fluid. I couldn't hear the motor so I thought it had somehow broken.
I read the manual just to be sure I was doing it right ( like I can't figure out how to use a windshield washer switch, jeez!! ) and it turns out I just wasn't pushing in hard enough. Duh. Man am I glad I didn't take it to the dealer and look like a total jackass!!! Benz must use switches with more resistance than I am used to.
