There was a member that I believe is no longer on here that supposedly fit dubs on the car (not sure 'bout tire size).
The size of the lip all depends on the type/width of the wheel. And there are certain restrictions with having bigger calipers.

The thing is, the car you are showing is an SL. They've got quite a bit more room in the wheel well to work with than the C Class.
That being said, before you both go buying wheels that won't end up doing, do a little research first to get an understanding of what the sizes are, what kind of lip (or dish as you refer it to) you are going to get because of the setup, do you want staggered vs. non-staggerred, etc, etc, etc...
Sounds like you guys don't have too much knowledge about rims/tires/fitment/etc..., but instead of taking the time to explain it all, I suggest you guys do a "google" search for more information on what the sizes mean and how that could translate to the C Class.
Another good site for information is how stuff works (can't remember the URL). Also, check Tire Rack. They give great explanations as well.

you also have to consider whether or not you have a big brake kit in the front... if you have amg brakes, you're not gonna be able to get a big lip in the front because it won't clear the brakes... lip size will depend on the offset you go on your wheels

I threw away all the print outs I've had over the years, but it taught me a whole lot about cars in general and other stuff as well.

I seen on cardomain, this guy put 20s on his 230ss.... I think if u search, look up "updated" and he'd be under "rovers, bmws...bla bla bla" stuff like that he did a customize job on 20s....but I also think that the front is prolly 19x8.5 max and rear is prolly 19x9 max...but I wouldnt really risk it... think abt it... the mb turning circle for the c class is kind of wide...and the wheels are at a slant

i run a 3.5" lip on my rears.. they're 18x9.5's. I love them but the only problem is they make my wheels look SMALL! as soon as I wear out these tires i'm getting some 19's..
o and there's those damn paint swirls again as soon as winter is over i'm getting her detailed. anyone know of a great place that'll get rid of all those swirls, chips, and do some minor body work here in the bay?
