2003 C230 Sedan
Car Cover ?
Anyone use a particular car cover for the C class sedans besides the $180 MB one? I've recently changed jobs and no longer get to park in covered parking
Thanks so much for any advice.

2005 230 Sport Sedan, Brilliant Silver, 6 Spd, Heated Seats, Sunroof, CDC, Flat Emblem, Clear Sides,
I just purchased a custom fit cover from http://www.carcoversdirect.com. I ordered the BLOCK-IT® EVOLUTION material from CoverCraft. The cover fits great. I paid $151.96 (included free shipping). A word of advice -- DO NOT order the ready fit cover. Make sure you order the custom fit model

I just got a CoverKing custom fit for the car. It was $250 but it was their top of the line cover... When I go away to school next year there will be times when my car may go unsued for a week or two and I dont want it on covered so I sprung for the best!

We've purchased two of the MB covers, which use Noah material. Very good results. We too have to park the car in a condo garage that, while covered, is open to the wind and dust from both ends through open grates. I could never live with the car sitting there uncovered.
Our official MB covers were discounted at the parts counter due to my MBCA membership - 10% off.

MB 2004 C230K 6-Sp-Manual Sedan Mars Red
I have to park under trees most of the time and my car is red. I got the MB Noah. I use it primarily against UV rays, bird doodoo and tree sap. I can live with dust and rain. It works well. The drawbacks are:
1) It soaks up a lot of water. I try to take it off before it rains. It is heavy when it gets soaking wet and I don't I want to drag the water into my house or the trunk.
2) If the rain beats be that day, when I take the cover off, dry or wet, there is a lot of lint on the car. I have it for 1+ years and it is still doing it. Does the cover need a wash before using?
3) Flammable, not recommended to be stored in the trunk. But I do store it in the trunk most of the time.
Anybody out there can recommend a substitute? What about tyvek?

Never had a lint problem with a Noah cover - on any of our cars, and the MB is Bordeaux Red, which shows everything.
On those rare occasions when our car is parked outside overnight, on roadtrips for example, I always leave the cover off if it is raining or going to rain. Easier to dry the car than to deal with a wet cover.
Yeah, Tyvek is an alternative, but it has its own challenges - the lining on our Tyvek cover DID leave lots of lint, and it did not breathe as well as the Noah cover. Better rain resistance, though, if that is of primary importance.

Car Covers
I tried the search several times, but kept getting blank screens a total of seven times.
Im looking to get a car cover for my 2006 c230. I live in a desert and it will be parked for the next 3 months or so. Any suggestions on good car covers with breathe ability would be appreciated.

I bought my MB cover through performance products. I am really satisfied with the fit of the cover and I use it all summer when my car is parked out in the sun when I am away at work.

It it is parked outside for the next three months all a car cover will do is buff your paint to a dull glow - no matter what brand. The dust in the Southwest is like fine grit sand paper and the wind here in the summer is impressive, to say the least. You would be better off leaving it uncovered and buy some inexpensive sun shields for the ALL the windows.
Car covers are usefull for VERY short term use and only when your car -and cover - is completely clean.
I can store you car inside in Tucson short term - out of the weather - for $250.00 per month.
CASH in advance! ;-)

You might also try covercraft. Try jc whitney and they had the covercraft car covers for a reasonable price. I am also starting to look for a new cover. My MB one is getting a little worn from parking my car in the economy lot at the airport.
