05' C230 Kompressor SS Mars Red 6speed--1990 300D 5speed
At the dealer, using the MB factory handheld laptop tester, go into the car's computer system.
Go into Programs
Locate the Rear SAM Program
Locate Body
Select Netherlands

I wonder if you can still get the Netherlands setting if you do not have the alarm. I am assuming the beeps are coming from speaker of the alarm system.

yes, beeps are coming from the alarm siren. If you set to netherlands setting then you will lose your panic feature. To have both panic and the beeps, this can be activated with a star diagnose system that has developer mode. If you are in Australia, contact BENZMODZ

ME too... Also, notice if you alarm it with the doors open... it gives a "vibrating chirp" sound.

Netherland settings will take away your panic button, unless you get someone who REALLY knows what they are doing.

I believe CtC230K recorded some sound clips of the beep for his arm/disarm. I've got it now on my car (4.5 230 KSS), so it is most likely available for your car, but I suggest searching for the threads about "alarm beep" that CtC230k has posted in.

Do a W203 forum search on the term netherlands, and you have 4,389 threads to read.

After four years of ownership, I still don't understand why anyone wants their MB to chirp like a Honda. But I guess it's just me.

it sounds horrible. i don't like any of the chirping made by any manufacturers. i still do wish though there was a favorable sound with the lights, to hear and see when locking/unlocking.

The chirping in that video sounds just like my neighbor's 5 series, and my other neighbor's Toyota Camry. I didn't know Honda's chirped...

Stairway to Heaven would drain your battery the first time you lock the car.

By the way ... Steve can already do that.
