Thats rediculous... I will have some machineist go and boar out and re-thread a Momo shift knob before I pay that.
Unfortunately I am not trying to pay 145 for a GDMF renntech knob.Thats rediculous... I will have some machineist go and boar out and re-thread a Momo shift knob before I pay that.

i don't think it is so they can sell knobs. how many people replace their shift knob with a stock knob????not too many. i think it must be so that it is always lined up, it is easier to remove, but is a pain if you want something custom.
My point was that IMHO, MB makes some of these things needlessly complex in order to make aftermarket stuff harder to design and install. Getting back to the knob, I'd guess that it would be much cheaper to just do a screw-on knob, and a better choice. My crx is 13 years old, and has gotten by with this low-tech answer, and has gone through many knobs. So, why do something that you have to be double-jointed to remove? I don't get it.
the momo shift knobs are one of the few that do, in fact, fit the MB stick. They come with special adapters (You know... the rubber stuff) for MB. It makes a perfect fit.. check it out at your local momo store.
-Just remember to keep your stock shift knob because the momo will not pass inspections.
I can post a pic of my shift knob.. if you want..
-i just need to get my digicam working.
Jersey inspection cares about that??? OMG... MD / VA there are so many ricers and other gear heads that add stuff to their vehicles that I think inspection criteria is pretty slack
My old integra with 3 inch straight pipes and 3 inch intake and all kinds of other fun illegal stuff seemed to never have a problem with inspection
Been posted tons of times; when you do get the knob, post some pics, I almost went with one of theirs instead.
I actually did fail my inspection once simply on the basis that the shift knob i had did not indicate the gear pattern on the top of the knob... This also happened to a friend of mine in pittsburgh.. Anyway.. thats the deal..
and for momo shift knobs.. just goto yahoo and search for it.. i'm sure you'll come across many resellers. just compare prices and stuff..
from there you can get names of the shiftknobs that you like and start shopping from there, i like the "driver" steering wheel but replacing my wheel now would mean to give up my airbag...
